Summary: Fay is hiding under a desk. Kurogane stumble upon him and feels oddly protective of the cat.

It was a hard struggle to get out of the house and find himself at the school, going off of memory and directions from plants that were of little use to him once he was out of range. He fell three or four times, hurting his knees and making the skin on his palms tear. Alarmingly so that temporarily seemed to soothe the deep ache he was feeling in his chest, an old kind of sorrow that should have expired months ago. Finally he made it to the school, where he wanted to be alone, hands leaving small drops of blood on the floor beneath him from the mild cuts on his palms. He groped along the walls until he found a classroom, and then helped himself inside

Kurogane never did well with pleading from people like the cat. "Okay... This is alright with your other half?" He glanced at Fay's face as he started wrapping his hand, quicker but not being any less neat. What Fye had to say about this was very important for obvious reasons. Kurogane guessed Fye would want to do what was best for Fay and hoped that Fye liked this idea for his own reasons.

"My other..." Fay still didn't want to talk to him. Maybe after thsi incident he would have wanted to, but after learning that the other ws taking his place as Kurogane's lover... no. The wall between them got a bit colder and stronger. "Yeah, he's fine."

The cat got another curious look before Kurogane decided not to ask. Instead, Kurogane nodded as he finished up on wrapping Fay's hand, "Good." He dropped his hands from the other and looked to the side a bit, trying not to sound awkward. "... If you get up we can go."

Fay, on the other hand, didn't seem to notice. It was too familiar for him to grow embarrassed about until after he used Kurogane to get to his feet. He felt his face flush and laughed a little nervously. "O-oh! Sorry."

Kurogane stood, trying not to notice how cold his legs felt without the other sitting on them. "Hn..." He packed the first aid kit back up and walked it back to where he got it. Walking back and picking up his coat, he asked, "You need help walking?"

Fay moved to follow the sounds Kurogane made, grabbing his shirt just before he was out of reach. "Just a little."

He glanced down at the hand clinging to him for a moment before slipped back into his coat. "My counterpart probably won't be in that apartment, right?" he asked, taking Fay's arm, right above the elbow. If there was a chance he was then Fay was going to be left in his room while Kurogane went upstairs by himself.

"No he was kicked out," Fay replied. He let go and smiled lightly when Kurogane moved to help him walk. Good, he was glad that the other would be helping him. He didn't think he would be able to stay there for much longer anyway. Not only was it hard to be there because of this, but before heand had been just as tough. "Thank you."

He thought he would be. Kurogane didn't much care as long as the cat didn't have to see the other right now. Dealing with that wouldn't help right now and the cat deserved some calm now. Kurogane scowled at his thoughts as he lead Fay out of the classroom. Glancing at the floor, he decided he'd leave the blood for someone else to clean up.
