Summary: Fay is hiding under a desk. Kurogane stumble upon him and feels oddly protective of the cat.

It was a hard struggle to get out of the house and find himself at the school, going off of memory and directions from plants that were of little use to him once he was out of range. He fell three or four times, hurting his knees and making the skin on his palms tear. Alarmingly so that temporarily seemed to soothe the deep ache he was feeling in his chest, an old kind of sorrow that should have expired months ago. Finally he made it to the school, where he wanted to be alone, hands leaving small drops of blood on the floor beneath him from the mild cuts on his palms. He groped along the walls until he found a classroom, and then helped himself inside

Kurogane's anger made Fay feel a little better. Because he finally had someone who would side with him. Not that Fai wouldn't have, but he had his own problems. Fay felt himself quickly starting to shatter and suddenly had such a feeling of deep loneliness that his arms trembled with the effort to reach out for something, anything, that was remotely familiar. And Kurogane, though not the same, was definitely in the remotely. Even if he was a stranger to him. Fay pulled him self to his knees and finally crawled out from under the desk to wrap his arms around Kurogane and hide his face in he larger mans neck. Out of habit, of course, but his scent was comforting to him. No matter how angry he had been at Kurogane before he felt safe here with him. He fisted the shirt by his back and almost tacitly begged for Kurogane to just deal with him. Just once; just for now. He just needed something to cling to for a while until he could stand on his own.

He was tempted to get up and find his counterpart now, that being the more familiar way to go about helping someone. However, Fay seemed to want the less familiar form of helping. Kurogane was interrupted from his new hatred at his counterpart by Fay moving. That was a good sign, better then curling up in a ball under a desk. Though Kurogane wasn't thrilled about the hugging. He tensed slightly, not sure what to do now. The scent and warmth from the cat was familiar from Fye and yet different. And Kurogane wasn't sure he was happy with the feeling that Fay was hugging who he use to be, 'his Kurogane' or whatever shit Fay was calling the him from before

Fay didn't even notice that Kurogane was tense and sure. Instead he let himself collapse, pulling himself as close as possible to the other person in the room. Silently he cried against the others skin, breath shuddering, as he let out all the betrayal that he was feeling. It took a while, but eventually the tears stopped on their own, his tank finally empty. And that left room for some shattering anger. Fay gripped Kurogane even tighter as he tired to stop himself from exploding. That didn't seem to work very well either. "What the HELL was he doing!?" Was among some of things he half shouted. Then he took a mouth of Kurogane's shoulder and just decided to scream for all it was worth, muffling it the best he could

Kurogane stayed still for the whole thing, face carefully not holding anything but his usual stoic scowl. He only let out one deep breath through his nose in response to the yelling. There was no answering that. All Kurogane did was watch the blond hair that that disturbed. One part of his brain was still trying to figure out why he was still here holding up someone he didn't really know or particularly like. Or did like but for no seeable reason that made sense to him. Maybe he really did feel bad for the cat losing someone he loved? No reason he should feel guilt about something he didn't have control over or remember. Fye telling him that Fay didn't hate him a while ago had made Kurogane a bit soft towards the other probably. Just mourning then. Fucking annoying mourning, but maybe that understanding of Fay made it easier to do this for him now

Or maybe he did it because he knew Fay was important to the other half he was currently getting involved with. Even if Fay refused to talk with this other half or even let him know what he was thinking, Fye still loved him. And that could explain why he wasn't able to come out and protect him when Kurogane had attacked. He had never heard or saw it so as far as he knew it never even happened. He only knew what he told Kurogane because he knew how Fay thought after living in the same head for years

"Ah," that had been true actually then. Since he stopped fighting how he felt for Fye now, he wouldn't mind living with him. Fay he wouldn't mind offering a room to for now. Kurogane doubted Fay would have wanted to stay in the apartment with him after he had been forgotten anyways. Things had changed now however. "There's that extra room if you want." Kurogane glared to the side, "Not sure I want either of you in that apartment if that's how my counterpart is." He blinked, either of you? That should just be Fye he'd worry about like this. Just the half he truly cared for should be his concern enough to offer a room to. Even if they shared a body... Kurogane started to wonder if he was getting them mixed up a little or something.

Either of you? Fay had to think about that one for a second, before suddenly misunderstanding Kurogane. He must have been talking about Fai. After all, he wouldn't think Fye would be interested in Kurogane after the whole forgetting issue. "You wouldn't mind bringing him over?" As for him staying there, it was a big hell yes. Which was strange since Fay was not used to feeling so calm and put at ease with a near stranger that his body was yelling at him that this was the right Kurogane. He couldn't resist resting his forehead on Kurogane's chin either, knowing that he was being a little too friendly. He couldn't help himself though, Kurogane was making him feel so light and floaty again. "If you think you can fit both of us."

Kurogane wondered how one brought over their other half. And why would he mind? He had made plans with Fye anyways. Kurogane suddenly realized he didn't know how much awareness the two halves had of the other. Fye knew how Fay actually felt about him, or had a guess at least, but did Fay not know what had been going on? There was a fear of a very awkward talk coming up if Fay didn't know Kurogane was sleeping with his other half... Fay's head hitting his chin made Kurogane cut off his slightly flustered thoughts and notice how comfy the other was making himself and how much Kurogane's body was letting him. He sat up straight again to have some form of formal with the guy in his lap. Fit both of them? Kurogane failed to see how Fay was thinking two personalities would invade his space. Or maybe he meant fit in time wise? Sounding slightly unsure, "Just one body..."

Wait, he was talking about Fye? Fay blinked, surprised, enough not to notice Kurogane was pulling away. Since when did Kurogane ever start to include Fye when they were cuddling together.... since when did they start cuddling together!? Fay sighed to himself a bit. Fye must have been talking to Kurogane in his place. Totally not expected of him since Fye was rather attached to the other. Why the hell did Fay suddenly feel threatened by that. "Ah... right." Fai probably wouldn't want to stay with Kurogane thinking about it. Remind him of too much which was added to the hate he was also harboring for the other. "You're sure you don't mind... I'm very needy and I get sick and cold too often and I sometimes have night terrors and then I can't get to sleep again." And why the hell was Fay listing all his faults as though he was trying to convince Kurogane to change his mind? His heart was sinking again, which was a good indication of why. Fay physically slumped and sighed a bit heavily. He should have been the one there for Kurogane... not

Confusion mixed with the usual awkward seeping through about having Fay in his lap made Kurogane look for something useful to do. He picked up the half bandaged hand of Fay's while staring at the list the cat had given him. Kurogane idly wondered if he would get a list of food allergies next. He sighed, moving to finish bandaging the cat's hand as he gave his answer. "... I already made my offer. Take it or not. But I'm hardly going to make someone go back to live in a place they were attacked in." He wouldn't make anyone do that, though the offer of a bed in his apartment was a new thing. Something just for blond cats apparently. And Fye was already going to come over for the First, it'd just be an extended visit. Or Fye would just move back in, a thought that made Kurogane's happy thoughts start to creep back into his heart.

A surge so something suddenly made Fay take a deep breath. It was Fye, he realized. When the hell had he started letting the other talk with him. He didn't though, so when the hell did Fye get strong enough to let him hear. Or rather, when did the emotions get strong enough. Fay sat trying to analyze what had just happened, and was shocked to find the same lifting sensation that he himself was getting just being close to Kurogane. And then there was excitement and a kind of pleading that made Fay's eyes widened.

That little bastard had moved in on his turf!! Fay's eyes narrowed at the anger that rose up so suddenly in his chest, like a little mini fire had been set ablaze to his heart. Kurogane hadn't suggested it, but Fay had every intention of taking the offer. "We're moving back in." It was more of a growled demand then a question. He had no choice! If he wanted Kurogane he needed to be with him more often so he could defend against his other half from taking it away! DAMN IT! He should have just taken all the shit quietly!! Once

Kurogane finish off one scrape and reach up to grab things to clean Fay's other cut. He had been trying to ignore the other sitting on him, but Fay was then doing something interesting. It was somewhat impressive to see how fast the other could go through emotions. What was that look? Outrage, perhaps? Kurogane had no idea what had been said to make the cat feel that, but that confusion was nothing compared to what came next.

"Ah?" What the hell? That wasn't his offer. A hope maybe. Why the hell did that sound like an order? Not that he would mine. Though it was his apartment! Damned if anyone could just order him in to giving them a room! But, he had offered the room to begin with. And he'd like to spend more time with Fye. And Fay if that would help his memories come back quicker. And he couldn't very well send them back to live with his counterpart. Hells. He had a roommate. "... Fine."

Good. He sent a crashing wave of his jealousy over to Fye to let him know that he was mad at him in that way before turning his attention to Kurogane again. He flinched slightly when the other started cleaning his other hand. "Can we get my stuff as quickly as possible?" This question was etched with worry though. He didn't want to go into that apartment and if he had too, he didn't want to go alone or stay long. "Please?"

He nodded but frowned at the steps that needed to be taken first. "If you can get that vampire to agree since I'm not welcomed in his home." Kurogane glared lightly at the memory. They were just kissing then, hardly anything like having sex on his counters. He focused back on cleaning, "If he won't let me up then he can bring it down." Though Kurogane doubted Fai would want to deal with Fay's stuff if he had the other Kurogane to deal with.

As much as it would hurt leaving Fai to his own devices, he knew that the other didn't need him at the moment. And it would be safer if he just left. "Can't we just get them now? I only have a handful of stuff..." Was he pleading with Kurogane now? What the hell...
