While the rest of the Compound was in shambles,
Yuuko and others were in the process of maintaining a barrier around the Arena in hopes of keeping a safe place for the injured and those unable to fight to rest. It wasn't by far the most orderly place as people kept trickling in from the battle outside in various states of distress and agony. Some

But she took a deep breath and entered the Arena after a moment, searching out Aligoté and anyone she might be able to help. She saw there weren't a lot of people here right now, which was either a good or a bad thing.

He'd been watching for Cassis, scanning the slowly growing number of people entering the Arena. There weren't nearly as many here as there had been during the last attack, he thought. So it was fairly easy to spot the pale blonde hair.
"Cassis!" he called, moving towards her. He was clearly relieved that she had arrived safely. "You're here, good..." He gave her a quick hug... she looked so worried that he felt the need to reassure her.
"They're gonna be fine," he said. "It's what they do... you know?"
He knew. Seeing Jing's familiar phrase, "time to go to ( ... )

She managed a weak smile at his reassured and nodded. "I-I know... but I'm still going to worry about them, that's what I do."
Cassis noticed Himawari and titled her head at her. The other girl looked a bit disoriented, but also seemed uninjured. "Is this a friend of yours?" Cassis asked.

He turned so he could introduce both ways. "Himawari, this is Cassis. She's from my world... uh, a different version of it, anyway. But she's just like my Cassis." He realized he was rambling and shrugged.
"I couldn't get Etna to come with me," he added, looking dejected.

Shambles, panic, screaming, fighting. It was a terrible world, one Kira would need to purify as quickly as possible at all costs. But for now, she needed to keep herself safe so she could be useful.
No one she knew. She hadn't met many people here. Why? Misa found a small space and sat down by one of the walls.

The blonde girl gave the stranger a friendly smile. "Say, you can't fight, either, or..?"

Yugi shook his head. "No. I'm...not really a fighter. And the only magic I could use, I don't really know how to use."

The Quincy strode over to his roomies then knelt down in front of Mello pausing to push his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "Are you alright?" then after glancing at Mello's bloodied hand, "Do you need stitches?"

"What about you? You're going back out there, aren't you?" Mello gave the younger boy a serious look.

"I am going out there, yes. I can't just sit around knowing I could have done something." He regretted his words almost immediately. He wasn't sure if Mello was sensitive about not being one of the many out trying to fight the thing but he was sure that not so subtly pointing it out to the blond wasn't the nicest thing he'd done. He fidgeted with the first aid kit until he found an antibiotic cream. "Put this on your hand."

"Are you all right?" he asked his son as they got closer to the Arena.

Calming herself down, she looked around to find someone in charge but couldn't see anyone who stood out in particular. She felt badly about not fighting, even when she could, but one look at that thing from far away had told her that she would be of no assistance what so ever. Her basic thunder tome would be more than useless- she would have needed a bolting or elthunder to do any damage at all. But she had her heal staff and could be useful that way.
"I can heal if anyone needs it," she said as loud as she could, which was really only at a normal volume.

He found someone offering healing services. He hadn't physically heard them say it, but he caught the suggestion telepathically and rushed over to her. "This woman. I don't think she's been injured from the thing out there, but she's not conscious." He laid the woman down on the floor, her entire body dirtied by charcoal ash. "I think she might've breathed in too much of that ash a few days ago..."

Ilyana activated her staff and felt some energy get used up by the staff. She turned to the person who had brought the woman and gave a weak smile.
"What ever she was injured with has been healed, though she doesn't seem to have been grave. Thank you for bringing her here. If you know of anyone else who is injured, uhm, I can help them," Ilyana said, hoping to distract herself from her worries by means of healing.

Misaki didn't know what was going on, but she could feel vibrations and she could hear things. She could hear the uneasiness. She could tell there was danger--and her son could be out there!
"Ritsuka!" she cried, her voice hoarse. She ignored the burning feeling in her throat and scrambled up to her legs, not caring about her sooty appearance right now. She ran off haphazardly, searching for her son in the arena.
