[ENTROPI] Shelter (ALL chars)

While the rest of the Compound was in shambles, Yuuko and others were in the process of maintaining a barrier around the Arena in hopes of keeping a safe place for the injured and those unable to fight to rest. It wasn't by far the most orderly place as people kept trickling in from the battle outside in various states of distress and agony. Some ( Read more... )

Though practically sick with worry, Cassis knew she'd only be in the way of fighting. She couldn't fight. If she wanted to be of any real help, it would be to help the injured and stay out of harm's way so that Jing and Kir could focus on keeping themselves safe. Thus she had been taking to the Arena by Jing and Kir before they had headed off. She watched them leave, the worried look on her face speaking in volumes.

But she took a deep breath and entered the Arena after a moment, searching out Aligoté and anyone she might be able to help. She saw there weren't a lot of people here right now, which was either a good or a bad thing.

Aligoté had brought Himawari to the Arena as he'd told Jing, but Etna had refused to go with them. He had demanded and pleaded but to no avail... whatever her reasons, she had wanted to stay put. If Himawari hadn't been with him, he might've tried dragging her by the pigtails, but every moment he stood and argued with Etna was another minute Himawari was unprotected as well. So, reluctantly, Aligoté had left Loh-Okto without the demon girl, although he hated having to do so.

He'd been watching for Cassis, scanning the slowly growing number of people entering the Arena. There weren't nearly as many here as there had been during the last attack, he thought. So it was fairly easy to spot the pale blonde hair.

"Cassis!" he called, moving towards her. He was clearly relieved that she had arrived safely. "You're here, good..." He gave her a quick hug... she looked so worried that he felt the need to reassure her.

"They're gonna be fine," he said. "It's what they do... you know?"

He knew. Seeing Jing's familiar phrase, "time to go to ( ... )

Cassis heard her name and turned around at the familiar voice. She smiled, looking relieved to see Aligoté. She returned his hug, very happy to see him and to see him safe.

She managed a weak smile at his reassured and nodded. "I-I know... but I'm still going to worry about them, that's what I do."

Cassis noticed Himawari and titled her head at her. The other girl looked a bit disoriented, but also seemed uninjured. "Is this a friend of yours?" Cassis asked.

Aligoté nodded. "Cassis, this is my friend Himawari. She breathed in some of that ash but she seems not to be coughin' as much any more."

He turned so he could introduce both ways. "Himawari, this is Cassis. She's from my world... uh, a different version of it, anyway. But she's just like my Cassis." He realized he was rambling and shrugged.

"I couldn't get Etna to come with me," he added, looking dejected.

Somehow Misa made her way to the Arena. She had a head for survival, even if it wasn't one for fighting.

Shambles, panic, screaming, fighting. It was a terrible world, one Kira would need to purify as quickly as possible at all costs. But for now, she needed to keep herself safe so she could be useful.

No one she knew. She hadn't met many people here. Why? Misa found a small space and sat down by one of the walls.

"Hey, are you okay?" Yugi asked, having spotted the girl sitting against the wall, seeming lost.

"Ummm..... yeah! Misa-misa's fine!" A forcedly-cheerful smile. "It's just a really big building and Misa-misa doesn't know a lot of people anyway."

The blonde girl gave the stranger a friendly smile. "Say, you can't fight, either, or..?"

"Well, let's fix that, Misa-Misa-san." Yugi said and held out his hand. "I'm Mutou Yugi."

Yugi shook his head. "No. I'm...not really a fighter. And the only magic I could use, I don't really know how to use."

Mello felt that it would be bet to move to the Arena. Sure it was a risk, but it wasn't but two buildings away from Mui. He thought it would be best to move now before people were preoccupied caring for the injured. He needed help carrying Matt and the supplies he had narrowed down to the arena. For now he'd keep the supplies close, hording them for himself. If things got worse in the next few days he would think about offering some up. He got help from Kimi and Lily, and set himself up in the corner. He sat with his legs crossed, Matt's head in his lap and watched the both leave to do their own duties ( ... )

Uryuu rushed into the Arena, eyes darting from face to face in the crowd until he spotted his roommates in the corner. Mello looked awful and not just from the blood that was covering his hand and stained Matt's sleeve. He looked downright haggard. The dark haired boy debated turning on his heel and leaving, secure in the knowledge that the two of them were safe from the immediate danger but something nagged at him to go make sure Matt was alright...he couldn't tell from here where he was standing if the man was asleep or dead.

The Quincy strode over to his roomies then knelt down in front of Mello pausing to push his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "Are you alright?" then after glancing at Mello's bloodied hand, "Do you need stitches?"

"I'm alright." Mello said, glancing up to their room mate. He looked like he was in a rush, fidgety and nervous but that didn't surprise the blond in the least. "I'll get it looked at later... there are people in more dire need of things other than stitches." He looked around. If he had to, they had stitching in the aid kit Ishida snatched from the infirmary a while back, he'd do it himself.

"What about you? You're going back out there, aren't you?" Mello gave the younger boy a serious look.

"You should get it looked at now! These things left alone too long can get infected." Uryuu leaned over the box of their supplies and rummaged around until he found a first aid kit.

"I am going out there, yes. I can't just sit around knowing I could have done something." He regretted his words almost immediately. He wasn't sure if Mello was sensitive about not being one of the many out trying to fight the thing but he was sure that not so subtly pointing it out to the blond wasn't the nicest thing he'd done. He fidgeted with the first aid kit until he found an antibiotic cream. "Put this on your hand."

Yamato hurried along, keeping Piemon close to himself and keeping an eye out for that Entropi thing. He muttered a few words he didn't want Piemon to hear under his breath, mostly concerning his jackass of a husband who had went out without him. Yes, protecting Piemon was all important, but they could've both taken him to the Arena and then went out to fight. What good it would do, he didn't know, but that was what he did.

"Are you all right?" he asked his son as they got closer to the Arena.

Piemon nodded, clinging to Yamato with one hand, the other covering where his cheek was stinging. "Where's Mommy?" Piemon asked nervously.

"Fighting that thing." Yamato wasn't going to lie to him. "I'm going to go find him once I get you to the Arena." He hoped Jaenelle or someone else he knew would be there to keep an eye on him.

Ilyana hurried to the Arena, which had been pointed out to her a couple of days before. Upon arriving she discovered that she knew no one there. It made her both worried and relieved. It meant that Syaoran, Erk, and Alexiel were uninjured. Or it meant that they were fighting, too injured to make it to the Arena, or dead. She began to worry even more after she thought of that.

Calming herself down, she looked around to find someone in charge but couldn't see anyone who stood out in particular. She felt badly about not fighting, even when she could, but one look at that thing from far away had told her that she would be of no assistance what so ever. Her basic thunder tome would be more than useless- she would have needed a bolting or elthunder to do any damage at all. But she had her heal staff and could be useful that way.

"I can heal if anyone needs it," she said as loud as she could, which was really only at a normal volume.

Mao rushed into the arena, panting as he carried in an ash-covered woman he nearly tripped over when edging around the barracks. He'd been moving as much as possible and avoiding the orb as much as he could, looking for people too injured to get themselves to the arena, following streams of thoughts as he passed.

He found someone offering healing services. He hadn't physically heard them say it, but he caught the suggestion telepathically and rushed over to her. "This woman. I don't think she's been injured from the thing out there, but she's not conscious." He laid the woman down on the floor, her entire body dirtied by charcoal ash. "I think she might've breathed in too much of that ash a few days ago..."

Ilyana looked at the woman lying next to her and then up at the person who had been carrying her. Then she looked down at the woman and crouched down to get a better look at her. She didn't appear to be very greatly injured, but she was covered in ash and soot, and anyone unconscious was, in someway or another injured. It wouldn't hurt to try healing her- if there wasn't anything wrong with the woman than no energy would be expended.

Ilyana activated her staff and felt some energy get used up by the staff. She turned to the person who had brought the woman and gave a weak smile.

"What ever she was injured with has been healed, though she doesn't seem to have been grave. Thank you for bringing her here. If you know of anyone else who is injured, uhm, I can help them," Ilyana said, hoping to distract herself from her worries by means of healing.

Misaki coughed, black saliva spraying from her mouth as it exited her system. She slowly, shakily sat up, her breathing labored. She wiped ash from her eyes and looked around slowly for her son. He wasn't there.

Misaki didn't know what was going on, but she could feel vibrations and she could hear things. She could hear the uneasiness. She could tell there was danger--and her son could be out there!

"Ritsuka!" she cried, her voice hoarse. She ignored the burning feeling in her throat and scrambled up to her legs, not caring about her sooty appearance right now. She ran off haphazardly, searching for her son in the arena.
