[ENTROPI] Shelter (ALL chars)

While the rest of the Compound was in shambles, Yuuko and others were in the process of maintaining a barrier around the Arena in hopes of keeping a safe place for the injured and those unable to fight to rest. It wasn't by far the most orderly place as people kept trickling in from the battle outside in various states of distress and agony. Some ( Read more... )

Mello felt that it would be bet to move to the Arena. Sure it was a risk, but it wasn't but two buildings away from Mui. He thought it would be best to move now before people were preoccupied caring for the injured. He needed help carrying Matt and the supplies he had narrowed down to the arena. For now he'd keep the supplies close, hording them for himself. If things got worse in the next few days he would think about offering some up. He got help from Kimi and Lily, and set himself up in the corner. He sat with his legs crossed, Matt's head in his lap and watched the both leave to do their own duties ( ... )

Uryuu rushed into the Arena, eyes darting from face to face in the crowd until he spotted his roommates in the corner. Mello looked awful and not just from the blood that was covering his hand and stained Matt's sleeve. He looked downright haggard. The dark haired boy debated turning on his heel and leaving, secure in the knowledge that the two of them were safe from the immediate danger but something nagged at him to go make sure Matt was alright...he couldn't tell from here where he was standing if the man was asleep or dead.

The Quincy strode over to his roomies then knelt down in front of Mello pausing to push his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "Are you alright?" then after glancing at Mello's bloodied hand, "Do you need stitches?"

"I'm alright." Mello said, glancing up to their room mate. He looked like he was in a rush, fidgety and nervous but that didn't surprise the blond in the least. "I'll get it looked at later... there are people in more dire need of things other than stitches." He looked around. If he had to, they had stitching in the aid kit Ishida snatched from the infirmary a while back, he'd do it himself.

"What about you? You're going back out there, aren't you?" Mello gave the younger boy a serious look.

"You should get it looked at now! These things left alone too long can get infected." Uryuu leaned over the box of their supplies and rummaged around until he found a first aid kit.

"I am going out there, yes. I can't just sit around knowing I could have done something." He regretted his words almost immediately. He wasn't sure if Mello was sensitive about not being one of the many out trying to fight the thing but he was sure that not so subtly pointing it out to the blond wasn't the nicest thing he'd done. He fidgeted with the first aid kit until he found an antibiotic cream. "Put this on your hand."

"You're too paranoid. I've dealt with worse, you know." Mello brought his good hand up and brushed it over the sensitive scar tissue. Cuts were nothing compared to that.

The blond dropped his hand, holding out the cut one and fisting the other against his knee. "Right now, I don't know what I can do. I'm out of practice, and..." He glanced down at Matt. "I can't just leave him like this when he's been like this for three days now..." He had no idea what was wrong, but he was completely freaked out that Matt wouldn't wake up despite his efforts. But there was slight relief in knowing his vitals were normal and he was still breathing normally.

"I expected somehting... something like this.. the cuffs, the attack... I didn't expect him not being able to watch his own damn back." It wasn't like Mello wouldn't do it anyway, but this was not what he had in mind. He couldn't even go check on L and the other Matt. As much as he hated L, he wanted to make sure things were okay ( ... )

He frowned at the paranoid comment but stubbornly shoved the tube of antibiotic cream into the blond's uninjured hand. "Just take it."

Uryuu then turned his attention to Matt lying unconscious and helpless on Mello's lap. It was times like this Uryuu wished he'd actually paid attention to his father's practice in medicine. Sure, the man was a bastard, but he was a doctor and had at least tried to teach Uryuu a few helpful things. The boy's limited knowledge of first aid was quite useless in this situation.

He looked back up at Mello trying to read the older man's expression when he was asked about food. "Eaten? Oh, no I didn't get at chance to."

"I'll take care of it, don't worry." Mello rolled his eyes, but he guessed it wasn't completely bad.

He looked down, placing his hand on Matt's forehead. He really didn't understand what was happening.

"Here..." Mello reached into the box of food supplies. He pulled out a few air tight packets with dry, dry bread in them. He handed those to Ishida and grabbed two chocolate bars. "You might need it. If I know one thing, fighting on an empty stomach is distracting." He smirked at the raven haired male, and pat him on the shoulder. "Don't get yourself killed. I'd hate for them to replace you with s room mate I'd feel like choking." A compliment in itself. Mello either liked you or hated you. There was very rarely anyone who fell in the middle.

Uryuu blinked down at the food in his hands, but it was the inclusion of chocolate that had him surprised. Of all the things he'd learned about Mello since they had become roommates the fact that Mello's chocolate was off limits was at the top of the list of things to remember.

"Thanks." He said softly then smirked. "I won't be getting killed. It'll take a lot more than bad smells and a couple of shocks to take me down." The Quincy stood, brushing off his clothes absently still clutching the chocolate in his free hand. "I'll come back and find you again when I'm done. Take care of yourself, ok?"

((ooc:Sorry for the slow reply, and awww, he gave him chocolate! <3))

Chocolate was sacred to him. Mello would never share unless he had something valuable to touch, like when he met Train and made a few shots with his gun. When it was melty, Mello hated melty chocolate, and on the rare occasion he'd offer some to Matt. This was their room mate. Chocolate was vital, and always gave him energy. He didn't want the lack of to be what got the younger one killed.

"I'll be here." Mello state. He didn't plan on moving. "Good luck."
