[ENTROPI] Shelter (ALL chars)

While the rest of the Compound was in shambles, Yuuko and others were in the process of maintaining a barrier around the Arena in hopes of keeping a safe place for the injured and those unable to fight to rest. It wasn't by far the most orderly place as people kept trickling in from the battle outside in various states of distress and agony. Some ( Read more... )

As much as Ahiru wanted to help, she wasn't sure how. All she knew was that something scary was going on and that someone had made a safe place at the Arena. The thought of a safe place drew the little duck out of Loh.

Becoming Princess Tutu, Ahiru bounded across the commons in long, graceful leaps. She twirled and dodged the sizzling lightning, and at last threw herself into the safety of the Arena. Breathing heavily from the mad rush to safety, the duck looked around to see who else might have arrived.

Keeping the barrier up was a lot of work for Yuuko even if she didn't appear strained. Though the cuffs were more or less off, they still put up a fight against her stronger magic. She was worried. Would the barrier remain until the Entropi was defeated or left? (She refused to think that they would lose.)

Noticing Ahiru stumble in and recognizing her, Yuuko approached her with a kind smile. "Hello, Ahiru. Are you all right?"

Ahiru turned lightly on her feet to see a pretty dark-haired lady. The lady looked pretty enough to be someone's princess, Ahiru decided, and that reminded her of Rue. But this was a grown-up woman and definitely not Rue, so the duck squelched that particular pang of homesickness. This wasn't the time.

In answer to the lady's question, Ahiru nodded. "I'm fine, Miss," she replied. "Is... Is there anything I can do to help?"

Yuuko smiled, seeming relieved to here that she was unharmed. "I'm glad. Hm... If you can be any help to the doctors and healers, or help the injured yourself, that would be great."

Bones stumbled in the Arena door, breathing hard. His face and hands were dark with scorches; he limped a little as he walked. On his back was every infirmary supply he could grab: all the drugs and almost all the bandages, several cloths and towels and anything else he could think of to scoop up and deposit on one of the bedsheets, which he had promptly rolled up, and bundled in two blankets, then slung over his shoulder like Santa's pack. In his other hand was his precious bag with his own personal medical supplies.

He found a corner away from the door to drop the pack and begin organizing it best he could. He was sure that within moments he was going to be very busy.

Hikari had been sheltered and helped into the Arena by Mama, and while the older woman was speaking, she noticed the doctor over by the door. She dug through Mama's sack of prepared webs, and carried it over to the Dr. McCoy.

"Doctor? I can take care of your wounds, if you'll hold still," Hikari said. "Mama showed me how to activate her healing webs."

Bones paused in his unpacking and looked up at the girl, surprise in his eyes. "Well," he said after a moment. "I'd appreciate that, young lady. I'm just a little scorched and banged up is all. Don't use too much of whatever that is. I'm figuring we're gonna have a lot of hurt folks in here soon enough."

Hikari smiled uncertainly. "Mama's been stocking up on Healing webs, so you don't have to worry about it. She saw trouble was coming, so she began stocking up on prewoven webs."

Hikari pulled out a needle, and pricked her thumb, allowing a drop of blood to fall upon the dormant piece of Craft. Black threads began to wither and disappear as the doctor's wounds began to Heal themselves.

Saetan was barely recognizable as he prowled into the Arena. The usual image of a benevolent, harmless old man was gone, and in its place was a Warlord Prince riding the killing edge. He was all deadly, glacial calm, icy golden eyes dangerously blank. The air around him was frigid with anger at the destruction and death. None of those who had died had worn Jewels, so none had become demon-dead. And there were too many allies and friends here for him to risk unleashing his full power ( ... )

"Saetan, thank you."

Yuuko had approached him from behind when she had noticed him enter. She offered him a smile, but it was grim due to the situation. Keeping up this shield would be a lot of work and she was afraid that they wouldn't be able to make it last the entire time it would be needed.

Jaenelle came over to Saetan and Yuuko, gave each a brief greeting, and demanded, "Papa, do you still have the Ebony shields on your Ring of Honor? I think with Miss Yuuko's help, we might be able to extend one of them to the inside of the Arena for additional support."

Saetan gave Yuuko a polite inclination of his head in reply to her greeting. Warlord Princes protected and served, and since she was in control here protocol dictated he defer to her, regardless of his darker Jewels. "Let me know what I can do to help, Lady."

A fond smile crossed his face at Jaenelle's arrival, which turned thoughtful at the suggesting. "Yes, I still have it. And I believe that would be a very good idea." Turning back to Yuuko, he explained, "Jaenelle created rings for each of the males in her first circle to wear around their," A cough, because this was polite conversation after all, "Well, you can figure that out. Among other things they can trigger very powerful personal shields. It would power itself, leaving us all free to work."

This was what Sheska had been afraid of all this time. She wanted to help, but what was she supposed to do, recite poetry to the Entropi? Her first thoughts here had been true after all. Fighting was for the fighters, not for her; one meeting with the Entropi and Sheska would be dead meat.

She arrived at the Arena on the edge of hysteria. Dead. People were dead. How many? Did she know any of the casualties? The people from her world, or her roommates? Winry, or the Elrics, or Hughes--again?

She barely restrained herself from running out of the Arena to go look for everybody, or anybody. Somebody could be out there, crying for help, and she was in here staying safe. That didn't feel right, as much as she knew what she couldn't do. As it was, Sheska hovered around the entrance, constantly trying to check what was going out outside.

Ed had gone to the Arena just because she read some post that non-fighters should go there. She wasn't a fighter. Spike was a really cool one. Faye-Faye too. ED had made her way to the Arena by running really quickly and cart-wheeling.

Ed saw the pretty girl by the doorway and approached her, walking on her hands. "Hey, are you OKAY?" she asked, looking up at her, "You don't LOOK okay. Whoooooooo."

"I'm okay," Sheska replied absentmindedly, still looking outside. "It's everyone else I'm worried about. I don't think everybody who's not here is out there fighting, are they? I-I'd hate for anything bad to happen, but if I try and imagine the worst--it's not a good feeling."

"Nooooo, it's not!" Ed agreed, giving the girl a silly grin. She bent at the waist and looked outside too and then looked at the girl again. "They'll be okay! They're really good fighters, right?"

Jaenelle made her way into the areana with Hikari, and looked around frowning. If this was shelter for the battle, there needed to be some sort of organization for Healing the wounded. She could tell that Yuuko was in charge of maintaining the shields, and she could see some of the physical Healers were already here.

Jaenelle took to a clear area, stepped up onto the air like she was creating a stage, and spoke up. "Everyone, listen up! We need to get organized! The sooner we do it, the sooner we can get to taking care of the injured!"
