"Hello," he said absently. He seemed to have finished drawing and was now labeling bits of the diagram with numbers and vaguely arcane-looking symbols. "Nice day for training."

But she needed to be in a group, so she tapped the first person she came across on the shoulder and tentatively asked them.
"Would you like to be in the same group as me?"

Oh well - time to pick out the people she would work with.
She went up to the first intelligent-looking person she saw and stuck out her hand.
"How do you do? I'm Kairi."

He turned when he heard a small voic chirp at him. He needed to look down, where he spotted - what seemed to be a teenage girl. What was she doing in a war, anyway?
"Please be kidding," he growled. But then he pulled himself together; if life at the orphanage had told him anything, it was that small people could do amazing things at times. He held out his hand and tried a little half-smirk to make up for his initial reaction. "My name is Mello. Machinery?"

She stood off to one side, a cigarette between her lips, slowly smoking as she waited for someone she knew to turn up or for a group to form round her so they could get started. She just hoped she didn't get stuck with anyone too bad, her other self hopefully would come along soon. She wouldn't mind training with him.

Tails stood off to one side, watching everyone else talk as he contemplated. He knew Sally was in the technology division too, so he expected he'd see her here somewhere. At least that was something.

Sally came up to him, perhaps out of nowhere, perhaps when he wasn't looking. It didn't matter. She was there along with everyone else, though by the way she looked, she looked like she'd been roused from sleep after pulling an all-nighter.
"Good to see a familiar face, Tails," she smiled.

Sally smiled; that was when she noticed the item around his neck. It was certainly machinery, she could tell by it's design.
"What's that, she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice."
