[TRAINING] Mechanical [West Bay]

Dec 11, 2007 18:33

"Residents," the Warden called, managing to be heard about the general noise of the assembled crowd without seeming to raise his voice at all. "Those whom have gathered here should be assigned to the MECHANICAL training division. If you are not part of this group, you are in the incorrect designated area ( Read more... )

Well, this ought to be interesting, Misawa mused. He had been vaguely looking forward to training, if only because it was in his nature to seek out any sort of education he could get. He hoped this would be a proper challenge for him. If there was one thing he hated, it was getting stuck doing boilerplate work. Seeing that he was still fairly early and few others were around, he took a notepad and pencil out of his pocket and began sketching some sort of fractal design on it.

Megatron was many things: conquerer, political savant (in his mind anyway), he also considered himself intelligent and as he saw Misawa he chuckled softly. At least that human wasn't wasting his time...

Daisuke found himself walking near a clump of two people. Not exactly enough to qualify as a 'clump', but they were grouped more together than anyone else, as far as he could see. He stood by them, as though he knew what he were doing, and didn't do anything, simply looking over at the other two. One seemed to be sketching something, and the other was laughing a bit.

Oooookay....what was he supposed to do now?

Misawa was peripherally aware that there were people gathering around him. He didn't look up from his writing, but he did raise a hand in a vague gesture of greeting.

"Hello," he said absently. He seemed to have finished drawing and was now labeling bits of the diagram with numbers and vaguely arcane-looking symbols. "Nice day for training."

Kimi tentatively entered the West Bay, hugging a notebook to her chest for just in case. She didn't know what was going to happen, or what was expected of her and . . . heck, she didn't know what she had been thinking deciding for Mechanical all those months ago.

But she needed to be in a group, so she tapped the first person she came across on the shoulder and tentatively asked them.

"Would you like to be in the same group as me?"

Ssil looked around when someone tapped her on the shoulder. "Ssure!" she replied, smiling. Of course, with her teeth, smiling might not have been the best idea. It didn't generally look as friendly as it was meant to be.

Kairi grinned as she entered the tech bay, a bit disappointed that she couldn't partner up with her brother in this, but group work could always be fun. She had loved working with Ienzo and Xehanort and the rest back home. Maybe she'd like it here as well?

Oh well - time to pick out the people she would work with.

She went up to the first intelligent-looking person she saw and stuck out her hand.

"How do you do? I'm Kairi."

Duo turned his head, not that he could see. He stood to her, his eyes blanketed by that spell, black crossing his face, his eyes. "Uh. Eh.. Hey there." he replied, smiling in her direction.

"Duo Maxwell, Doin fine.."

She grinned tucking some of her hair behind her ear, a bit alarmed by the blind spell across his face and part of her wondering if there was a potion in her textbooks that could help this? Or maybe she could ask for someone to help him after this meeting?

"That's good, would you like to work together, Master Duo?"

Mello hated to be yelled at, he hated the warden, but he did like the fresh air, and the chance to observe the other residents of Econtra. He had never consciously seen a mass meeting in this place. The diversity of people was overwhelming - some looked barely human, and...-

He turned when he heard a small voic chirp at him. He needed to look down, where he spotted - what seemed to be a teenage girl. What was she doing in a war, anyway?

"Please be kidding," he growled. But then he pulled himself together; if life at the orphanage had told him anything, it was that small people could do amazing things at times. He held out his hand and tried a little half-smirk to make up for his initial reaction. "My name is Mello. Machinery?"

Matt wandered into the West bay slowly, and reluctantly, she didn't want to be here much, or to 'train'. But at least it would remove some of the boredom that plagued this place day after day. At least now things had calmed down from the up and downs she'd seen over the past few weeks.

She stood off to one side, a cigarette between her lips, slowly smoking as she waited for someone she knew to turn up or for a group to form round her so they could get started. She just hoped she didn't get stuck with anyone too bad, her other self hopefully would come along soon. She wouldn't mind training with him.

Mello felt awkward, but she was the first one he had spotted. Her double had been a little behind and said he'd catch up soon, and Mello hadn't been able to find him yet. He sighed, shrugging his shoulders and walking up to the female red head. "Don't make me find someone else." He stated calmly as he tapped her on the shoulder.

"Make you?" Matt turned her head to look at him with more than a twinge of annoyance. There was no doubt that this was the one she currently disliked on account of how he'd treated her, only he would would talk to her like that since she hadn't met the newer one yet. "I'm not making you do anything." Did he really think getting into a group with her was a smart idea?

"Yeah, but..." Mello shook his head and looked at her. Now that he was closer, he noticed she looked different. She looked... nice. He sighed and leaned against the wall, looking away. "Matt should be around. Hopefully he'll find us and not get caught up with another group." He shifted awkwardly before pulling out a bar of chocolate. His hand still tightly bandaged. It had been years since he had a fight with Matt, and nothing like this. It used to be that things fell together and were perfectly fine the next day. Unfortunately they weren't kids anymore. He hoped working together would have her come around sooner or later, though. "Nice... new look." He muttered a few minutes later, keeping his eyes fixed to a group in the distance.

While Tails was slighlty disapointed to not be able to train with Sonic, he also understood that once again, his technological expertise might be able to help more than his combat skill. That was the area that he excelled at and where Sonic didn't, so that was the area where he was needed. He could understand that.

Tails stood off to one side, watching everyone else talk as he contemplated. He knew Sally was in the technology division too, so he expected he'd see her here somewhere. At least that was something.

"Hey there."

Sally came up to him, perhaps out of nowhere, perhaps when he wasn't looking. It didn't matter. She was there along with everyone else, though by the way she looked, she looked like she'd been roused from sleep after pulling an all-nighter.

"Good to see a familiar face, Tails," she smiled.

Although he'd been quitly toying with Fox Gadget around his neck and lost in thought, he didn't even look startled as he heard the princess's voice. He looked up and smiled as she approached him. "Hi Sally. It's good to see you too!"

"It definitely is."

Sally smiled; that was when she noticed the item around his neck. It was certainly machinery, she could tell by it's design.

"What's that, she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice."
