Today I saw Notes on a Scandal.   It goes without saying that Judi Dench was spectacular.  I've never seen her do a really evil character, so this was a first.  But the best part for me was an explosive performance by Bill Nighy.   Lately I've mostly seen him in heavy make-up (PotC) or odball parts, but this was wicked serious.   Loved the film for
