Building Thoughts

With the thought that I might be returning to college and have plans to build my own B&B in the future, it would seem to me that getting a degree in Architecture would be the smartest move. My focus would be eco-friendly/Green/LEED/net-zero structures. I've been searching online and, as I thought, there are jobs out there and they ALL require

If you're up for it, a minor in hospitality/hospitality management would probably be good. I have no idea if any colleges offer that as a minor though, and a double major of anything with architecture sounds pretty masochistic.

I'm not sure if an Architecture degree would be the best use of your time (and money!) if the only thing you want it for is to build just this single B&B. Hospitality or general business classes might provide more applicable skills for the long term. You can take classes, and read books, and find people to work with who can help you learn what you need to know for building the B&B without the investment of a college degree. Once it's built, an architecture degree would not longer serve any purpose and would never pay for itself. Unless you'd like to consider a career in that field.

Out of curiosity, what are the "more interesting things (you'd) enjoy learning?" :)

Well, I would *love* to learn how to do all the fancy art/animation/illustration that one can learn through Noman school like Jessica Dru did. But that's got not practical application in my future

I guess I wasn't clear. The reason i was aiming for an architecture degree was to get a job in that field, make a reasonable living, then (having saved enough money to purchase land and afford my venture) break away to start building and running my B&B. Make sense? Severl folks have voiced this same point and I assume I wasn't plain in my post.

Sorry if this sounds snippy. I just feel like everyone must think I'm dense at this point.
