Today Pete decided to trim one of the oak trees while most of the limbs were bare. We try and do this every winter so we can actually see the dead limbs and what needs trimming without all the leaves in the way. That first one barely looks like your yard - all the decorations overshadowed by tree trimming debris.
That's nice that the moon it back - it always makes me feel better when the moon in in the sky at night for some reason.

I'll try and remember to take another picture when it all gets cleaned up and new leaves start coming in.

The gardens and yard are a big job to take care of, believe me! Sometimes I wish we didn't have so many things around here that need so much attention, but it IS satisfying when a job is done and we can sit back and enjoy it.

Thanks on the moon. Sunday was the first night of the new moon phase, so when I caught it, it was already into the second night. I love when there is just enough light up there to show the ghost of the whole moon.

My freind and I were wondering if it was new moon on Sunday, and it was! She was wondering if the moon would be on its side or on its back like you have. I'll have to go out and see!

The orchids are back up now. I do it so often and I have worked out a system where I can do it pretty quickly. The only problem is if one of the roots would happen to attach itself to the tree trunk, because that is what they do in the wild. This winter I found two that had done that during the summer and fall months and I had to pull them off and destroy part of the root. But it was either that or possibly lose them to the cold weather. Yes, that is the tree with the staghorn. There is a smaller more manageable one hanging on the opposite side, and I was able to take it down before all the work started.
Yes, I checked and the new moon was Sunday, so this was into the second night of the new moon.
