I talked to them tonight and I had it wrong or I was told wrong in the first place. Either way, it is stage 4, not 5, but still they say it is not as bad as it sounds. They have high hopes of recovery.
Happy Birthday to Pete! The eagle pic is fantastic. What a marvelous pose he struck for you! I hope the radiation helps your friend's cancer and that he gets a remission. And yes, we get reminders that we should be treasuring our lives and truly living.... however, (for me anyway), it is difficult to do the living I'd really love to do because of the basic day to day struggle just to survive! My job totally consumes my life.

Yes, the doctor seems to be very optimistic. They first have to make a plastic/rubber cast of half of his head and neck so they can put little holes in it to pinpoint the exact place where the radium will go each time. There's about a week of prep work before they begin.

Bad news about your freind. Although Myrhiann's husband had it, and he has lived a long time since then. So, there's lots of hope!
