[Eagle stood in the hallway outside of Lantis’s hospital room waiting for him to wake up. His normal gear had been abandoned in favor a looser fitting button down T-shirt as much from the necessity of not aggravating the wounds he had received as it was for the guilt he felt about using the weapons he normally carried against

[The truth is being concealed here, but at least he didn’t say he was ‘fine’. ]

[In the other room, Lantis slowly wakes up. They'd had him drugged heavily so he wouldn't try hurting himself again but he hadn't cared about that. Now he's just trying to concentrate on figuring out where Eagle is... On what day it is...

Just like that, he tries to sit up.]

[And one of those super annoying bed alarms goes off alerting not only Eagle who was still standing in the hall but also the nurses that Lantis was trying to get up. Of course those same nurses rush past Eagle to hold Lantis down and Eagle follows just as soon as he can get past the intern standing in the doorway. ]

Lantis, you shouldn’t try to get up right now.

[Echoing what the nurses had also been saying. ]

[Honestly, he's confused by the alarm and then by all the people trying to hold him down. He tries pushing their hands away until he sees Eagle. Then his focus shifts.]

If you don’t behave these nice ladies will put you to sleep again.

[Attempting humor but there is no joy in Eagle‘s voice. ]

[There is no blame in his voice. In fact, he sounds calm and just relieved to hear that Eagle is alright.]

I was glad to hear you were going to recover.

[But, I was trying to kill you. I have to make up for that some how. ]

But, I am truly sorry that any of that had to happen.

[He doesn't blame him for any of it. Not even the fact that he has to be in the hospital.]

[Yes, Eagle put him in the hospital and now Aya's asking if he's alright.]

[No, he is not alright. He‘s going to try to make people think he is though... or at least that he will be alright.]

I really wasn’t too badly injured. I will be fine as soon as these injuries have time to heal.

He already sounds guilty enough. She'd feel like she's kicking a puppy or something, and it's not like she totally blames him.
