Well just because the leaders of the First Nations agreed, doesn't mean the population living there agrees to. It's a bit like how Harper often does things that I disagree with (like extraditing Marc Emery >:| ). That said, their reason in this case is bullshit, the Olympics have been over for 3 months and fire-bombing a bank now isn't going to undo anything. Actually I don't think fire-bombing has ever accomplished anything more than stalling condo developments and making people angry.

Yeah - I think their cause might have been *slightly* more sympathetic (not that that's saying much) if they'd just said they did it because, well, it's a bank.

Also, I would say that First Nations chiefs have more authority to speak on behalf of First Nations people than some random anarchist group. And Stephen Harper, like it or not, represents more Canadians than any other single person in the country can plausibly claim to.

If you can find virgin coconut oil up there, pick some up and massage it into your hair before you shower. There is a good chance it will help get rid of the dandruff. If it doesn't work you can use the leftovers for cooking.

What I find perplexing and possibly repugnant are "designated protest areas". Really? Yes, let's protest exactly where the gov't we're protesting says we should. Ridiculous.

*I in no way condone the bombing of banks

I get that, to an extent. I mean, as it is, a lot of types of protest do require approval, and for good reason. Like, no, you don't get to protest on Front Street while the G20 is happening in the Convention Centre, because that's impractical and could be dangerous. And no, you don't get to march down Yonge Street without the approval of the police, because that's annoying half the city and potentially disruptive to emergency vehicles.

But I can understand how it would upset you (and others) that there'd be designated protest areas covering only little bits of the city, when what there should be is designated non-protest areas, covering only the little bits of the city that need it, for one reason or another.

I understand why they make those designations. They want to control potential chaos. Governments fear chaos. It just seems really silly to me is all.

I've known quite a few radical anarchists in my day and I can imagine the scoffing that would go on at the thought of a designated protest area.

Chaos is more dangerous than order though, no?

For the dandruff, have you tried Nizoral? It's the dandruff shampoo of last resort these days, and if the over-the-counter stuff stops working well enough, it's also available in prescription strength. If not for this stuff, I would no longer have any scalp left.

I have tried it - at least the OTC stuff, and it's done nothing.

I did a little research on it, and it says that if nothing else works, a doctor may prescribe a corticosteroid. I have some of that for another skin condition, but I should probably see someone before just rubbing it into my scalp. :/

There is an OTC topical anaesthetic (not a shampoo) called Scalpicin that relieves the itch without actually doing much about the cause of the itch. I don't find it terribly useful most of the time because the itch is a relatively minor part of the problem for me, but my mother swears by it, and it's gotten me through the occasional period when a shampoo stopped working and I hadn't yet found a new one that did work.
