Blatantly stolen from here

Poll Post Coitus

So here's another question (not stolen). TV often depicts people that seem frustrated with partners that ask them for directions in the bedroom. So I'm wondering if this is a reflection of how people really view those kinds of questions or if it's just a reflection of the people that tend to become TV writers. So... ( Read more... )

"i don't get why instruction during or before sex would be bothersome unless it's something you physically can't do, outside ur comfort zone, or b/c the person is always 'instructing' you to get them off & preventing you from getting yours--and in all of those cases i think you should just be able to say those things."

Exactly.

"but what's up with people who can't take direction?"

I still think it's that some folks are just too immature to talk about it, but I think unrealistic expectations based on porn prolly play a big part in it, too.

Like I know SO many dudes that have average to above average sized dicks that thought they were small because they were comparing themselves to porn stars. So if they have that as an expectations for themselves, it makes sense that they also expect women to be like female porn stars.

"but how do you handle that, short of just deciding y'all don't need to be sexually involved anymore?"

I'm guessing that's the only way to handle it. Unless the person becomes open.

there was a chick on the radio blaming folks for suggesting that people if they want their partner to learn new things, watch porn together, chick said she bought the porn, but did was trying to do the rough stuff instead of working his way to that point. She did that cause she can't talk to her man and let him know he's just not doing it for her.

That's sad. I mean, not to say that it's an easy conversation to say "this isn't working" but still.
