Wonderful posts Bob. I've read all three, it felt like I was there. I hope I can get out to the Con next year.
You're ending piece was touching. I don't really have a memory like you do about understanding Doctor Who. My first experience with Doctor who was a clip from Remembrance of the Daleks. The part where the Doctor drives up in a UNIT van and finished off a the last Dalek. I think I thought the show was something like Scooby Doo.
Since then I've watched much more.
Thanks again for the great coverage of Gallifrey this year.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed. Hope you make it out next year.
Everyone has thier own starts with Who and experiences of how they got into it. The major three camps are- starts in the old days, started in the Wilderness or started with the New Seres. I'm semi-kinda in the first two camps. But it's interesting to look at the series through that prism of time again. Makes me miss those days a little.
The Wilderness Years - Bascially the time Dr. Who was off the air (1990-2004 barring the TVM) when all fans had to go on were rumor, the new Avdentures, EDAs, PDA, Big finish Audios, the odd webcast or charity special and Dr. Who Magazine/comics to keep us afloat.
You too??? Man I know it was going around but it walloped me. I could barely move for 2 days. I guess that's what happens though. Hand sanitizer next Gally! Hope you feel better!
