Grant me Serenity... and Central Air

First day at work after vacation went smoother than I thought it would.  I imagined I'd have to dodge lots of people asking me where I went (answer: nowhere)  and what I did (answer: as much nothing as I could stand, then comic shopping, comic reading and movie watching).  They just ask to make conversation; I know they don't care.  So why bother ( Read more... )

Sorry about your AC *hugs you* Always a bitch when it doesn't work :(

The MAC thing sucks, too. You're just not having a great week, are you? *hugs you some more*

The 3G looks nice but, if I'm going to spend over $500 on a laptop, I want a Toughbook. What's not to love in a notebook computer that you can immerse in water or run over with a fully loaded Humvee and then turn it on and use it? (Okay, so the Humvee cracked the screen, but it was still completely functional including the display.) Also, I've read of at least 2 instances where the things have taken bullets and saved their owners' lives which is too cool for words :)

Don't get me started on GI Joe or I'll go on all night *shakes fist in the direction of Hollywood*

That's not a slightly bitchy blog. It's a very bitchy blog... If it were me, I'd look into options involving people with pet parrots *nods* Just sayin'. It's kind of a matter of principle, imo

Thanks. The A/C's fixed now so, happy times.

I sorta knew what I was getting into when I bought my Macbook two years ago. I knew Apple was constantly putting out upgrades of hardware and software. Still, I made the switch because I didn't want to deal with the headaches that so many folks were having with Vista.

re: Toughbook - Wow, that's impressive. Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin', I guess. :)

Fixed AC is a good thing :) Bet you aprpeciate it more right now than you did before it broke *hugs you*

Vista was a headache, but I'm a PC girl all the way and always have been. I just paid extra for a Vista "upgrade" that made it operate more like XP (then again, I still sometimes use a DOS emulator if that tells you anything about how resistant to change I am ;p

The Toughbook kicks ass (starts at like $3000 but kicks ass and looks good doing it); was originally designed for use by the military but now a lot of police and firemen and construction companies use them as well.

omfg... Toughbook vs Hummer; I just found a test where the screen doesn't crack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N53xYt_QXO4 How can a fic writer fail to lust over a unit like that?

btw, love the new Snape icons, especially the L'Oreal one :)
