For refrigeration, fill a porous pot (eg: terra cotta) with water, cover it, and put it in a windy place out of sunlight (eg: north side of a wall). Store things in it in waterproof containers. Water evaporating from the surface of the pot will keep the interior cool. This approximates an ancient 'refrigerator' technology used by desert tribesmen in africa. They use a pot of sand filled with water (the heat-capacity of sand is lower than water so you get better cooling if the evaporating-surface-area/stored-water ratio is lower).
I want it to hit the republican convention because I want to watch the media go apeshit. :sigh:
