So I guess we are having a hurricane Tuesday

We are almost dead center of the cone, so tomorrow I'll go on the roof & trim back any branches that might hit the roof & check for any potential problems. Sunday I'll mow  the front yard(makes it much easier & safer to clear debris) - I mowed the back yesterday. I had found some real gas (a fisherman friend told me where I could get it).Life is so much easier when your mower starts first try instead of me wasting 2 or 3 hours having to break down the engine & clean it to get it to start! Which left me enough energy to mow the whole back yard instead of just half like usual.
  Sooo, I went to the gas station today to top off the gas in my car- stations were already starting to jack up the prices (they generally rise 20-50 cents in anticipation of a hurricane, the worst places will tack on a dollar or more). Then the grocery store- naturally today they had salmon half off- since I will probably be without power I can't stock up the freezer :(   Monday I'll make sure all drainage areas are clear & bring in anything that could blow (pots, yard furniture, etc). Tuesday morning I will turn the air conditioning way down so that I'll have at least an extra day before the house gets unbearably hot with no air conditioning. So lest I forget, don't be concerned if I am off line for a couple of days - internet access may go down here for a while-
