Today was really...weird.

Jun 28, 2017 20:52

Today was supposed to be our day to stay home and not go anywhere. Chores were mostly caught up and I was looking forward to a nice day of crafting and writing and gardening, while the DH worked on his own hobby of cutting bottles. I was to meet up online with my co-writer at 3PM, and I had a turkey I wanted to get in the oven before that. (Yes, ( Read more... )

Goodness, too bad about your "day off", but hooray for getting a car!

I never enjoyed sweet potatoes much, but putting cinnamon on them sounds delicious.

Yeah! I hope that next week we can get a little peace and quiet. This weekend the DH works, and I work Sunday--but Sat. is my birthday and I'm off and I get a whole day off to do only what I want!

They are quite good with a little cinnamon. I'm glad we got to finish them up. Along with our white squash and the turkey, it was a very filling meal.

New car and turkey dinner definitely sounds like a win-win to me.

*grin* The dinner was quite good--and the new car is shiny! So, yes.

Still it was all quite weird!

It was exhausting! I don't know why, but just sitting in a car being propelled forward by someone else for a lengthy period of time just wears me out, worse even than a day at work on my feet for hours.

The new car is nifty. It's silver, and shiny. And it has a back-up camera! But no CD player. Lots of leg room on the passenger side.

But it's not as pretty as MY little blue baby! (I won't tell the DH that, though.;-D)

Sweet potatoes are awesome, and really easier to grow than I thought they would be. And yes, very yummy with cinnamon!

Ooh, shiny new car! I'm sorry you got stuck behind one of those wide-load processions, though. That can be so frustrating.

Boy, it sure can! I think that was the longest time I've ever been stuck behind one! At one point, it turned, and I was relieved--until the DH groaned and told me it had taken the same turn WE had to take!

Usually there is a chance to turn off, or to go around, but not yesterday!

Sounds like a tough day to have "off" - you did tons of chores and got some stuff done though! Good on you.

Plus, your turkey and veggie dinner sounds AMAZING and you don't have to worry about the car anymore. Yay!

It was an excellent dinner, and now we have tons of leftover turkey for turkey sandwiches, turkey salad, turkey soup and other such goodies! If I put half of it in the freezer, we'll still have a lot of good meals out of it now, and more for later!

But we'll have to wait for more home-grown sweet potatoes until the ones in the ground are ready to be harvested.
