Today was really...weird.

Jun 28, 2017 20:52

Today was supposed to be our day to stay home and not go anywhere. Chores were mostly caught up and I was looking forward to a nice day of crafting and writing and gardening, while the DH worked on his own hobby of cutting bottles. I was to meet up online with my co-writer at 3PM, and I had a turkey I wanted to get in the oven before that. (Yes, ( Read more... )

Doesn't it seem like even the simplest chores become complicated and exhausting these days? But, shiny new car! Woohoo! I've had my eye on a Ford Escape for a while now, but I'm not sure when we'll be able to swing it.

I've never been much for sweet potatoes, but the rest of the meal sounds delicious. Now I want to roast a turkey. LOL Summer heat in Texas and firing up the oven don't go all that well together, but maybe in my roaster... :-)

Happy early birthday! Enjoy your day off. *hugs*

Yes, they do!

My car previous to the one I have now was a 2005 Ford Escape--I'd still have it if Ford Finance hadn't pulled a dirty trick. (My advice is don't finance it through Ford, or if you do, don't take advantage of it if they offer you a chance to skip payments.)

It did heat the kitchen up some, but it was worth it!

I like sweet potatoes, but my DH LOVES them.

Congrats on the new car. I'm taking my car in to get new front brakes tomorrow. I probably should be car shopping but I dread doing it.
Happy birthday on Saturday!

Shopping for a new car is hard. Thankfully, this was not ME needing a new one--I am horribly indecisive when it comes to expensive things like cars.

Indeed we did. The DH drove it to work today--222 miles round trip, and was very pleased with the gas mileage--almost as good as the hybrid he traded in!

(It is a very long commute--but he is mostly retired, and only works every other weekend, so it's not like he's making the drive every day.)
