Only community members may enter the challenges.

Community members must sign up for current round to participate in challenges.

Challenges will always be posted on a Saturday. Responses are due the following Wednesday.

Voting will commence on Thursday (and close on Fridays) and winners and eliminated contestants announced with the next challenge.

All drabbles must be 499 words or under.

Contestants will have one skip during the round, which they are free to use until there are 8 challenges left (semi-finals).

You are allowed to vote for yourself.

Please include "leather and librarians" in your sign up reply so we know you've read the rules.

TIMELINE

Twenty participants to start.

First prompt challenge posted Saturday August 23rd.

Entries due on Wednesday August 27th (Midnight, est/edt).

Voting starts Thursday August 28th, ends Friday August 29th (Midnight, est/edt).

Results announced with next challenge post on Saturday August 30th.

Bottom two contestants will be eliminated every week until we reach semi-finals (Eight contestants). At this point one contestant will be eliminate every week, and skips will not be honored, until we reach the finals (Three contestants). The final challenge will consist of two drabbles (one prompt and one free style -- writer's choice), with the scores combined to determine the winner.

If you do not turn in a drabble, we will assume you are using your skip. If you have used your skip and do not turn in a drabble, you will be dropped from the current round of challenges.

If we calculated the numbers correctly, and no one drops prematurely, the Grand Finale Challenge will take place the second Saturday of November.
