Australia Day!

Wow I must have needed some sleep desperately!  I’d promised my girls that we’d watch the Heath Ledger Tribute together (some really nice commentary followed by A Knight’s Tale and The Patriot) last night.  Well, I struggled to make it through A Knight’s Tale and failed completely with The Patriot.  I guess I really shouldn’t watch tv while lying ( Read more... )

Sounds like fun :) My father avoids computer stores for the reason that he overspends everytime he's in one, lol. Green might not be *that* bad as long as it's not lime. Ick. Hurray for AC!

*in eerie voice* Buy the laptop, buyyyy the laptopppp It'll be worth it- as long as you get a good brand.

Fun of sorts ;) Hubby really has no interest in computer stores, but every time we go to that store he gets this overwhelming desire to spoil me *grins*

Green isn't that bad, but it's not a color I would have chosen, if I had a choice. I'm more of a blue girl :)

Which is precisely why I didn't buy one yesterday. I want a good one that won't give me any grief ;) I need to do some serious homework before making a decision.

It's so much fun to get new things. That green color car doesn't sound bad.

I'm not a big laptop fan. Hubby and I have both done in the computer field for years. I like desktops much better. The technology gets so much better so quickly. And we can upgrade desktops so easy. Not the same for laptops.

Laptops are nice if you need the portability. I got my laptop five years ago. I use it about 1% of the time I'm using a computer. The rest of the time I use my desktop.

Now my husband uses his notebook 80% of the time. Mostly because he has to have the portability. He's in meetings in different rooms and different buildings all day long.

If you get one, I wouldn't get a Dell. They don't stick my their products. They had to be sued and forced into extending warranties a three different models of their laptops.

The car itself is good, but I'm just not a fan of green :/

I simply want the portability. We'll be keeping the desktop, so I'll still have that when I want to sit at the desk :) I had a notebook for a few weeks (a friend's who needed some work done to it), but I wasn't overly enamored it.

Dell isn't huge over here, and you can really only buy them online, which doesn't sit comfortably with me - I like to see what I'm getting before money changes hands ;)

Having money is nice but remember it needs to last a bit.

Ahhh, a laptop sounds awesome.

These are all purchases we've planned for years.

It would be nice to have a laptop, but I need to do a little homework first.

I am so proud of you! Most people would have jumped at that. You are like me, shop for the best at the best price...lol! My car hunting experiance will start in one week. I am excited, but scared. I have never bought a car before. the first car that I had my mom asked me what I was looking for in a car and I told her at the time I wanted one like my sisters a Chevy Lumina...so she found one that she could afford. I was 15 and tickeled pink. After that my husband brought them home and i have drove them I never really had the option. Don't get me wrong he asked if I liked them and I said yes or no, but it was just out of being nice..lol! This is the first time that I will have to make the decision my self. Well, good luck on getting the air conditioner. I hate buying big things..lol! :D

I have to shop for the best price :) It just goes against my grain to simply buy something for the sake of it.

I won't actually get to choose my car, because hubby's a mechanic turned truck driver, so my opinion only extends as far as 'that's a pretty color' *wink*

The air conditioner will be easy. We know what we want, so it's just a matter of arranging it *g*

LOL! Well, hats off to you. I have a freind that has been a mechanic all his life and he is 40 or 41 anyway I was talking to him the other night and I had to laugh at his advice. My mother has a 1985 dodge diplomat that she is going to be getting fixed in a few days right, ok so follow me here. When I asked my friend what was best for me he tells me...
D- Go and find you a 70 or 80 model pick up
Me- I have 2 kids one still in a booster seat.
D- let them ride in your moms car
M- I have places I have to go to, plus I have a friend with 2 small kids one in a carrier and one in a car seat
D- well, just deal with it, she needs to get her own car.

That was about as much as I could take before I literally started banging my head on the table top! I am at a my wits end with that man...lol his wife laughed at me she thought it was quiet amusing..lol!

I wish I could just go oh love that color...lol! ;)

I swear mechanics and their opinions of cars are impossible, which is why I have no 'real' say in what I end up with :/ They look at the car for performance, but seem to forget that the car is there to do a job and if it's not suited to that job too bad. Hubby would really like me to get another Toyota Corolla (I have one now), but while they're great little cars (I've never had a days trouble in 12 years with mine) they're way too small for the family now that two of the kids have longer legs than me :/ If I went with the smaller car I could have a brand new one too, but it just isn't big enough.
