Lots going on here lately!

Austin started fourth grade last week (wtf??).  So far, so good.  It looks like he's trying to stay a little more organized this year, though he didn't really back that up by forgetting to bring his backpack home on Friday afternoon.  You win some, you lose some, I guess.

I've always been a kind of crafty person, but I tend to get distracted halfway through time-consuming projects, and not finish them.  This post is to announce that I FINALLY FINISHED ONE!!!!!!!!!!  I knit a wool diaper cover/soaker for Nate.

Austin started taking karate classes in late spring, and last week was karate camp.  It was a pretty intensive week as far as karate training goes (an hour and a half a day, as well as the regular hour-long evening classes on Monday and Wednesday).  There was a sleepover Friday night, and Saturday morning, we got to go in and see the team ( Read more... )

Today (technically yesterday, but anyway) was our third wedding anniversary, and we got an awesome gift:  Nate said his first "real word" today.  I was sitting on the couch with him on my lap, and Gambit hopped up next to me.  Nate looked at Gambit, looked at me, grinned, and said, "Keeee!" We went on our first geocaching expedition on Sunday afternoon.  It took us to a local park that we'd never been to before.  Dave and I were both surprised by the boys being cute.
