I kind of miss the LJ community we had over here. Things went a bit slower, posts had more meat to them, people seemed more involved. Facebook is more fast-paced, shiny, lots of bits and "look at this meme" stuff, and I pretty much never keep up with it. Time passes
Six months since I started working at The Sherwood Group. Three months since I went permanent. Two months since I got health insurance. Two weeks since I started being able to use my vacation. ...Holy Heck, I'm a Real Boy now! :) Took long enough... Tron!
Went over to Matt's place last night to watch Tron with a bunch of friends from chicago-sf.org. I think we had a turnout of about 15 people. When the first light-cycle scene came on I reminded folks that they were looking at GROUND-BREAKING GRAPHICS, despite them being rather lower-resolution than your average graphics-company mock-up nowadays ( Read more... ) -
Adventures in futility
Didn't get the job. Not only did I not get converted, but I got a call from the agency on the way home from work on Friday informing me that someone else had been hired, that my assignment was finished, and that they would go in next week to collect my things. I'm somewhat disappointed that I didn't get the job, more disappointed because I liked ( Read more... )
