Punk Fu

We succumbed to the call of the pesticide. ealdthryth phoned the veterinarian and arranged for me to pick up some Advantage and a small syringe. Since it really is a two-person job, I had to wait for my sweetie to return home before medicating the cats. Two people you ask? One to hold the struggling, protesting cat, and one to administer the evil drops ( Read more... )

Considering that W.O.P.P. tends towards the silly side, I may consider reproducing more of the super-deformed ninjas and have a Pirates vs. Ninjas bonus theme shoot.

THIS!!!!!

I forgot to do Ladybug's Frontline and Interceptor last night before bed, so I took care of it this morning before our walk. Last month I had her clamped between my knees to keep her from running away and squirming too much. This morning, after some slinking away, I firmly asked her to sit, stay, and murmured good girls to her during the application. No muss, no fuss, and she gets a treat afterward. But she's a little punk now too.

I think it gets easier over time. Kirsten's girls just suck it up and deal poutingly.

I offered treats to our cats, too. Kiera refused to take it from my hand, but snarfed it up off the floor when I put it down. Josie wanted to get away so badly that she ignored her treat. AElf' was quite happy to have a treat. Ignatius snarfed up a treat before he even got upstairs....

Arrrggghhh...You need an obscenely colorful Parrot in a pink Boa target! I remember a Pennsic where the Captain General of Archer's of the East Kingdom made life size targets from photos he had taken of well known Knights and Dukes. The shoot was an "Advancing Soldiers" shoot. It was amusing what parts of the target took the most damage depending on the particular figures real identity - and they were recognizable! LOL.

As for the medicating of the pride...their reactions seem to be as varied as their personalities. You would think we were cutting off their tails or something. Mine vary from easy as pie to chasing them the length and breadth of the Debatable lands. I suspect it would get easier if it was done more often. I don't know if you'll actually find any dead carcasses as the cats will start grooming themselves fairly soon but at least all they'll ingest areed dead carcasses and eggs.

For some reason, while shooting at a super-deformed pirate or ninja is amusing, shooting at a parrot is not. Mainly because (considering the venue) it will simply stir up the inevitable Monty Python Dead Parrot Sketch. 8^)

Coworkers who don't even ask about vacations when you've been away for a while? Weird... and disturbing if the reason really is "they'll be gone soon anyway" as with the contractors.

Weird, yes. Whether it has to do with the revolving door, I'm not too sure--that was purely embittered speculation on my part. Some of these contractors have been around for years, while others seem to only have merely popped in on their way elsewhere. Either way, it is one of the reasons I don't really enjoy my job. I *am* grateful that people are not deliberately malicious (as it appears the co-workers of several of my LJ friends are). Mine are just disappointingly indifferent.
