I've kinda taken to the idea of online account management and electronic statements, as opposed to getting paper statements. Makes less trash, less demand on trees, etc...

Someone explain to me the logic of sending me a snail mail once a month to tell me my on-line account statement is ready. I dunno. It just kinda defeats the purpose.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you!

So, after a long flight and about halfway through a drive starting in Los Angeles and ultimately ending in San Diego, we stopped at a place on the water in San Clemente, CA., recommended by a coworker. Out in front of the place was proof that the reach of Badgerism is nearly endless.

Rather than individual comments to all replies on Samhain, a much appreciated thank you to those who have expressed sympathy at his loss.

We lost Samhain this morning. As of yesterday afternoon, Dr. Smith said he was doing better, but this morning he took a turn downhill. Twenty minutes later he was gone. The post mortem showed cancer spread through a number of his organs, though he didn't present with it, so really there was no way to know.
