Layton takes a defensive stance, rapier raised with his right hand and knees slightly bent.
"We'll start with some defensive maneuvers, such as parries and evasive stances. I'll demonstrate those. If you don't mind, I'll have you perform the offensive techniques, Mr. Kururugi. Let's begin simply. If you could come at me with a forward cut, I'll show how to tierce your opponents movements."
Once done speaking, Layton lowers his rapier slightly, indicating his readiness for the strike.

Its an easy enough task. Suzaku comes at the Professor with a few simple horizontal slices. The moves are technically sound, though his swing is wider and slower than normal, making the sword easier to follow.

The Gryffindor couldn't help but wonder who would be her opponent and help her realize her true potential at sword fighting. This should be really interesting to say the least. She kept waving her sword around, tapping her foot impatiently as she practiced.

He notices Lucius, another professor like himself. Something about the man seemed knowledgeable on the sport, the way he observed the demonstrations.
Layton tips his hat in greeting to Lucius.]
Good afternoon, Professor Malfoy. Enjoying the demonstrations so far?
