It's a New Year!

So its another New Year - the one designated as 2013. In reality, its one of 4.56 billion trips the Earth has made around the G2 V star called the Sun. Sort of puts thing in perspective, doesn't it. It's great to see your words and shinies again! It sounds like you had an eventful year in a good way! Woohoo!

2012 was not a bad arbitrary segment of time for me. I got a lot of stories written, and I'm working in earnest now to get some things published. Instead of just talking about writing stuff, I wrote stuff, and instead of just thinking vaguely about getting published I'm actually submitting now. I worked at the polls for every election this year (and man, there were a lot, with the recall and all), and did a lot of political activism stuff in general. Oh, and I did have miintikwa up here in Madison for about a week. That was pretty darn nifty. :)

Mostly 2012 was a good year. What I didn't mention that 3 close friends of mine passed beyond the veil, including my old roommate (1997 - 2001). A victim of a massive stroke, he was only 40...

Great Shiny! Thanks, as always.

Most of 2012 for me was spent shuttling back-and-forth to VA hospitals for worse medical care than a veterinary clinic would provide, and after a whole year of complaining that my left shoulder was not working right and in pain nearly constantly, they only said, "It's bursitis."
