2013
So its another New Year - the one designated as 2013. In reality, its one of 4.56 billion trips the Earth has made around the G2 V star called the Sun. Sort of puts thing in perspective, doesn't it. No matter, it was a rather significant year for the doctor. Highlights for this year include the being the science director for
AnachroCon , the extremely rare
June 5th, 2012 Venus transit, and my first visit to one of the largest and oldest star parties -
Stellafane , in Springfield Vermont. Much of August was spent on a "Grand Tour" of New England and the Adirondacks (NY). In early October, I was back at the Peach State Star Gaze, giving presentations on imaging and taking lots of pretty SHINY.
But perhaps the most significant positive highlight for the doctor was finally hooking up with my old college GF, who also lives in Springfield, Vermont (btw - home of Stellafane and main reason for my August NE trip). She was married for 25 years to an abusive alcoholic - but that's all over now with divorced finalized back in late 2011. She has 4 kids (2 boys, 2 girls), the two youngest girls are still in high school. So yes, I have a family of sorts now.
So its true - after many years, the Doctor has a SO.
But enough of this domestic stuff - Bring on the SHINY!
My Best Jupiter image of 2012 (and all time)
More Jupiter - this time a 3 panel Mosaic
And finally, a Pretty SHINY!

So how was 2012 for you?
