Unfortunately, the news on my grant application wasn't good. My score got slightly worse. Not significantly, but enough to probably kill its chances. So, three years of work bites the dust. I'm still waiting to get the review sheets, so I can at least see what the reviewers had in mind ( Read more... )

I'm so sorry to hear that. Having come from a household where The Dreaded Grant was a several times a year event, I've certainly seen how horrible and frustrating it is when they don't get accepted and funded.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. And again, I'm so sorry to hear that.

Thanks. My dad used to write grants all the time, too. I remember there were certain times of the year that you just couldn't disturb him. :-)

Interestingly, my dad remembers the last time that funding was so tight. It was back in the early 1980's. So it really does come in cycles; I just hope I can keep my career going until it cycles back again.
