Tag problem - now that we speak of Hana Kimi twdrama as Hana Kimi, what do we tag the jdrama with? Hanazakari no Kimitachi e? Or as the article below mentions, something like "hana kimi: ikemen paradise"?? The mod can decide on this. :)

Okay, so what I refer to is this:

Either I rename the Taiwanese Hana Kimi to its Chinese title or we will tag them hana kimi tw and hana kimi jpn accordingly.

Ogushuuun! And Toma! I can't wait for it! I haven't read the manga, but the tw drama was super fun so I can only imagine how fun it will be(laugh)!
July 3!
I kind of want it to be released with all episodes subbed (LAUGH) So I can watch them all in one go... -superexcited- But that's not happening so... -waits patiently-

Your icon rocks!

I actually prefer twdrama to the manga but that's because I don't like the art much.. The stories & characters are cute in both twdrama and manga, though..

I'm so excited the Japanese dorama mainly because Oguri Shun and more importantly Toma Ikuta is in it. I've extremely enjoyed the Taiwanese version that's why I also look forward to the Japanese version. The former has strong cast w/ good acting skills. Almost all of them are so hilarous. They would be one tough cast to beat!

J.E. fandom is generally happy about the casting of Toma Ikuta bec. it's been quite sometime since his last time. We could remember him as Junpei in Hana Yori 2 and as Box in Akihabara Deep. I've read in Wikipedia that Nakatsu (the role that he would be playing) has a blonde hair. Anyway, here's another Toma pic :

Speaking of Hana Kimi + JE fandom: did you hear that Ryo was going to be cast as Sano? Because I heard that rumor a while ago... hmm.

Yup, initially there's a rumor about Ryo to take up the role of Sano. But Ryo will no longer be Sano, instead, Oguri Shun will. :)

Shares your general feelings on all of that. It remains to be seen whether the new Nakatsu will have the same 'omg! will someone just fling him against a wall and snog hug him' impact as Jiro's Xiu Yi did but I know I'm biased.

I'm actually less sure about Oguri Shun. I quite like him as an actor and he poses beautifully but I'm struggling to see him as an athlete.

He looks so "proper" in pictures. Like, not so much an athlete as a model - I get what you're saying, totally. We'll see. I'm pretty sure some people groaned after finding out Chun would be playing Sano as Tokyo Juliet was not a fave of many but Hana Kimi turned out a big hit..

Nakatsu was more ridiculous than ridiculously hot in the manga, though. Jiro as Xiu Yi was oddly both. Haha, well, it was special.. I'm hoping Toma will be special in his own way. :D

I'm pretty excited to see Maki as Mizuki... she's done a really good job in everything I've seen her in. Also, I was pretty disapointed to see Ella cast as Rui Xi (but she grew on me, don't worry.) I think it'll be interesting to see how it goes with a cute Mizuki. Also, all of these actors are pretty famous, which makes me think this will be a pretty high-budget drama.

As for pacing and fitting stuff in, I never read the Hana Yori Dango Manga, but I found 9 episode Hana Yori Dango 1 was very impressive, even though I'd already fallen in love with 27 episode Meteor Garden... the Japanese can do wonders with their timeslots :DD.

... Though Taiwan was my first love, Japan >>>>> Korea/Taiwan in my book!!

Here's an Oguri Shun picspam, if anyone wants :D

Yeah, I really wonder.. There is so much of the manga, and Hua Yang managed to get around 12 manga volumes in its running length, and that was 15 x 70 minutes. If Hana Kimi live action from Japan is 11 x 45 minutes, it's so much less, they'll have to cut out a lot and ..well, I'm worried for that aspect but I trust they'll do good.
