I went to see the UCSC production of The Lion in Winter over the weekend. The young men overacted a bit, but the King, Queen, and Alais were played very well. Bravo!

While I was there, my sister got me to try her bf's Virtual Boy. Totally unwieldy, but a nifty old-school 3D experience nonetheless.

In the DOS vs. Mac days, I preferred the command line because it gave me finer control of what the computer was doing. I came around to Windows 95 and Windows 2000 when they put a nice gloss on top of the command line, but also gave you easy access to the actual file system. Yesterday I went to a GameStop looking for a particular game. A clerk looked it up and said they did not have one, but a nearby store did and he would call and ask them to set it aside for me. I'm planning to get a new computer so I can play StarCraft II when it comes out, so I started browsing Fry's online store. I found the model I liked last week, and then placed my online order today for pick up. Earlier this week, I finally killed Ares in God of War at the highest difficulty. Last night I defeated Zeus (and accidentally killed Athena) in God of War II. Tonight, I begin my quest to bring down the gods of Olympus in God of War III!

The reviews have been really harsh, especially on rottentomatoes.com, but I didn't think it was that bad. There was one scene where Wolverine is looking at his adamantium claws where the CG looked sub-par. That's kind of inexcusable for a top-tier film at this point, but I didn't notice any problems outside of that one scene ( Read more... )
