I loved this description, For the first time, there is no sudden surge of panic, no sense that he is being smothered by his own mistakes. He finds they do not plague him here, consuming him, feeling like crimes committed in moments of weakness. and Remus's thoughts about being irritated by Dora's youth.

This was theraputic for me to read. I've been depressed about Remus's death (but I was so, so happy that the last time we see him he's with Sirius again).

I'm still trying to sort through my thoughts about the whole Lupin story in DH. I agree with most of what you've said here. Although, from my reading it adds up that they were married for 2 to 6 weeks before Tonks became pregnant. Voldemort is taunting Bellatrix about the marriage that happened 'this week' at a DE meeting towards the end of July. Lupin comes to Shell Cottage to announce Teddy's birth sometime in April. It's close though.

Thank you very much! :)

And, yeah, hah, even while I was writing this, I was pretty sure that the dates weren't going to add up correctly. I flipped through DH a few times and couldn't find the direct statements regarding when Remus came to Shell Cottage, though, so I finally just gave up. After reading the book again, I feel a little guilty about it, but not quite enough to actually go and rewrite.

Er, maybe metamorphmagus/werewolf pregnancies are different? Right. Let's roll with that. ;-)

Aw, thank you so much! I'm glad that you enjoyed it, and that it filled in the Remus/Tonks gaps well. :)

(And I know you are probably sick to death of hearing this, but The Case For R/S might actually be one of my favourite things on this earth. I am guilty of periodically going back and rereading it just because it brings me so much joy. So a very, very late thank you for bringing that into existence. :D)

Oh, this is just beautiful, esepcially the way it's been reversed. And it seems so right. From now on this is so going to be the canon behind their relationship, to me at least. I love how it started and ended with Sirius - because that's the way it should be, of course XD

DANG, but that was well done! The reverse storytelling really worked--it was so heartbreaking to see the little bit of happiness with Tonks and Sirius at the end, because it was still so inadequate when compared to the glowing reprieve of after-death.

Aw, thank you very much! And I'm glad to hear that the reverse storytelling worked; I wrote the sections all out of order, and I'm not quite distanced enough from the piece yet to be able to read it objectively, so I couldn't quite tell. So thank you for that. :D
