That was gorgeous. I'm usually wary of backwards fics, but you pulled it off beautifully. I love how even though its backwards, it seems like it's being told forwards because it starts and end with Sirius.

And on a purely post-DH note, thank you for filling in what JKR regrettably left out - an explanation.

Aw, thank you so much -- I'm glad that you enjoyed it! And, heh, there is a frightfully optimistic (and quite possibly delusional) part of me that likes to think JKR left out an explanation just so we could draw this particular conclusion. ;-)

o i liked this. as has been said, i think this sums up a lot of the randomness of remus/tonks quite nicely. i do admit that i personally like to think that remus found some happiness with tonks, even if it was quite obviously strained. his complete joy over teddy made me believe that their relationship wasn't completely unfounded, although i know babies can bring joy even into some less than perfect relationships for at least a time.

and i love that they're together in the end. i actually cried during that bit in the book when the ghosts/whatever of james, lily, remus and sirius all appeared, young and whole. for all that i think jkr tried to sink our ship, i don't think she'll ever really succeed, especially as long as we have the marauder era.

thanks for the beautiful story! ^^

Aw, thank you very much! :) Glad you liked!

Now that I've had time to adjust to everything that happened in DH, I definitely think that this fic is probably an excessively dreary look at Remus's feelings for Tonks; I think I've de-bittered enough that I can actually wish a bit of happiness for the two of them. ;-) Just . . . more with Sirius. Naturally.

And, oh, did anyone not cry during the resurrection stone scene? That was so incredible.

Ohhh, this was perfect. Even though there was such a desperate, sad air to much of it, it still made me happy. Beginning and ending with Sirius was brilliant. I really enjoyed how you utilized the backwards storytelling method. Remus/Sirius will never not be the most beautiful relationship ever. You really gave the idea of Remus and Tonks validity, though, and took away some of that awkwardness. Hooray for your amazing abilities. :D

Why, thank you, Miss Crys! I'm glad that it made sense of things, Remus/Tonks-wise; writing this really helped me with that, and the second time that I read DH, I was able to be a little less "IN THE NAME OF ALL THINGS HOLY, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!" about Remus/Tonks.

A little less.

However, R/S FOR THE ETERNAL WINNINGNESS OF THINGS.

This sounds and reads perfect. It reconciles to me the somewhat implausible R/T and the R/S that I've loved for so long.

Also, it's pretty amazing that you've come up with this so quickly.

This makes me so sad...

I like the way you've worked this out and presented it. The reverse revelations... *saves*
