So, on Monday it was almost 70 degrees outside and sunny. It is slowly getting colder and according to the weather forecast, will be 40 degrees and snowing by Friday...Halloween. Dammit! I hope this is one of those times that the weather forecaster is completely totally off-base. I always hated it when it was that cold out on Halloween, because

;) Thanks! They look so cool when we look out our front picture windows and can see them in the yard at night, in the dark!

LOL Thank you! Our place can get quite scary at night after dark, especially on Halloween when we turn off the lights and turn on a strobe light and spooky noises CD and a fog machine. We go all out!
don't forget to post a piccie of your costume, please :-)
I hope too - we'll see how self-conscious I feel in it. Maybe just the face makeup. Eep. Here is my costume/makeup from last year though, if you want to see it. (I felt like my 'real' face was obscured enough that I was comfortable sharing it online - I'm still so old school about putting up pics of myself on the internet. Maybe if I friend-lock the post itself.)
Are you doing anything for Halloween this year?

The house I grew up in was off the beaten path too. Right next to a cornfield, actually. The only trick or treaters we ever got were the three other families that lived on our dirt road. My dad still lives there and he was just saying today that he has a stack of quarters on the off chance that anyone shows up, but he didn't even bother with candy this year.

I still buy one big bag of candy on the off chance that some out-of-the-area kids show up, but hubby ends up getting to eat the candy the next day. ;>)

Thanks!! We have so much fun with it - I am already excited for some ideas we have for next year! (we want to be Scary Faeries next year!)
Your witch costume was awesome.
heehee Thank you! I had so much fun with the makeup for that witch costume! This year I was more into the costume than the makeup. (puts up post-it note to remind myself to send out pics of the vampire costume.)
Let us know how the PT carnival goes, I hope they win.I saw pictures from one of the other clinics and they all dressed like Toy Story characters and even though we worked hard on the carnivale, I will not be sad to lose to the Toy Story peeps. They looked amazing! But the clinic that is the arch nemesis of 'my' clinic found out about our carnival idea and STOLE it and did the same thing. I haven't seen pics yet but I can't imagine it was better than ours because I made a 17 page how-to-booklet that they followed almost completely to the letter. (even K got in on the action). Plus, K says he thinks they are ( ... )

Yes. I want to see the Vamp costume. I'm so glad most the stuff got there in time. I'd have worried the post office had screwed it up otherwise. I'm so glad you liked them.
They stole your idea? That blows. I bet they didn't do it as well. But I hope they get called out for being cheats.

Thanks, babe! My sister does like 90% of the work, with The BFF holding things like the ladder. lol I pay for the new decorations and the pumpkins though! ;) Like five days before Halloween it was beautiful out and then on Halloween it was 40 degrees and snow/raining and yucky. But we still got like 100 kids, which is pretty decent for us, I mean, an average turnout but considering the weather, a really great turnout. I think it helped that it was on a Friday this year.
Your witch from last year looks fabulous. I hope this years was as good or better.I am so proud of the makeup for that witch, thank you! I am going to send out pics through email to some of my peeps, including you, since my face is not as obscured as it was with the witch costume and I won't be sharing it on LJ because of that. I just have to get all the pics in one place - my computer, Ipad, Sis's phone, K's ( ... )
