Since Canada Came Along!

So the visit with The Canadians went very well! They are better and better houseguests each time they stay. I have very few gripes and the main one was that I didn’t get to see enough of them! Also, they didn’t say what their plans were going to be, when just knowing when it was they intended to be at the house was all I needed, as it helps ( Read more... )

Your SIL is right - it's more fun with someone who knows the deal to watch with! My dear friend and I used to watch Buffy together every week... and if I couldn't go over, we watched on the phone together! Shame on your brother for not getting this! :P

Kids love power - watch out for the TCN if she loves timeout that much! (Also, do we need to make a list of fics for your sister about those things that you and I don't want to read?)

Did the Canadian Nephew come up with any other new faces while you played with him? Those sound like fun!

Spiderman, Iceman, and Wolverine would have been very proud of The Nephew for hitting hard and true, and playing through the pain. You should tell him so.

Now go rest! :P

It's more fun to also be the person introducing someone to a new show, especially crazy shows like One Tree Hill where I was like, "Oh, they're brothers, but he used to date the blond and the other is dating the brunette but cheating on her with the blond and the first brother is secretly married to the other brother's best friend..." (yes, those are real things that happened in the same episode of OTH). Which of course just makes s-i-l laugh at the ridiculousness and then ask a bunch of zany questions!

My brother does not understand TV shows like this. He is never interested in anything that even slightly resembles a soap-operaish storyline. But oh yes, watching over the phone with some...That's always a blast!

I fail to see how the age of the doll makes a difference - she created toy poop! And wasted chocolate to do it! These two things together suggest a seriously skewed sense of priority to me! :P

Mutant ball! You know it would be fun to write!

I'm glad you're getting rest and writing - yay for you!

LOL You know what? When she put the chocolate in the diaper, I thought the same thing..."Yeah, it's funny but what are you going to do with that Hershey Kiss now? Gimme!" lol

Now that I've said it, I really like the X-Men baseball team idea. I think I might do it for him, as an extra gift. After I write the Science!Bros fic he has requested. I never get a chance to write him stories that he hasn't prompted me for because he keeps coming up with so many plot bunnies all the time! 8)

It was actually a really sweet visit with The Canadians. I hope to call them this weekend - now that the kids are a little older, I want to call more often so they don't forget that I'm the cool aunt! lol

I saw your post about hacking and coughing. I hope you are feeling better by now! At least it didn't ruin your visit with your friend, which sounds like a lovely way to spend your weekend. :)

Awwwww, that's so sweet. You have me beaming like a proud aunt all over again! It was a really nice evening game with a good crowd (for teeball anyways) and since I saw the first game of the year, I could see how each and every kid had gotten better over the summer. None were better than The Nephew, but I may be biased on that! ;)

Using my 'sports' icon for appropriate reasons. :)

Awww it sounds like it was a really great time.

I think we are similar in I like to know what I'm doing before I have to do it, I'm not great with last minute plans. I like to be organised, so I can see how that would be a little stressful.

Your sis in law is right, watching shows with a fan girl around is just better.

The kids sound adorable. I'm glad you had a good time.

It was, indeed, a really great visit with my brother and his family. The kids warmed up to us all a lot faster this time too!

I do okay with last minute plans on a rare occasion, like someone calling me up and saying, "I'm in town, do you want to grab lunch?" because even in that situation, if I was having a high stress/anxiety day, I would say 'no'. With this visit with my brother, it was everyday, not knowing if they would be walking in the door in ten minutes or two hours - which meant I couldn't plan anything, not even like, "Catch up on Flist, read a chapter of my book, then they'll be home and I can play with the kids!" Which was all I really needed.

Your sis in law is right, watching shows with a fan girl around is just better.Right?! Especially just ridiculous teen shows where I can be like, "That's his good friend's baby mamma but he's sleeping with her but he doesn't know that his ex-girlfriend is sleeping with the baby daddy guy and that ( ... )

My reply is so late. I've not been on my laptop in days because I've been too ill.

Wow I didn't know one tree hill was so complicated, secret teen wife?

Today I had to explain Hanibal to a friend, which was funny. "well this guy who eats people...."

Aww you must miss them a lot.

Oh no! With the flu or is it the health issues knocking you on your ass? I always worry when you aren't around for a little bit of time because I wonder if it is your health keeping you away.

One Tree Hill is so crazy and I swear I didn't even realize how crazy until I was trying to explain what was happening one day to my sister and it is just a mess of who is dating who and who is related to who, lol. Yep, two teenagers went to some state that lets 16 year olds get married without a parent and got secretly married and then kept it from most everybody for awhile. It was a big plotline! (secret teen spouses in my icon!)

lol Omg, that would be so messed up, also with the like, 'he is this guy's psychiatrist and then this guy is that guy's psychiatrist...' 8)

Aww you must miss ( ... )
