4th anniversary as a couple, so it's quite apt that I answer this meme now :)

"Pwede magrequest lovestory niyo ni Edward? Hehe."

At around midnight on Nov. 3, 2002, henry153  and I shared a cab ride to EDSA from Eastwood where our friend Fran had treated us to dinner to celebrate her 23rd birthday. Henry and I were talking about our non-existent love lives and when we wanted to get married. I remember calculating the dates backwards, like Rachel Green in the Friends episode The One Where They All Turn Thirty. I wanted to have my first baby before I turned 28, and I wanted to be married for a couple of years before then, so I needed to get married at 26. Obviously (or so I thought) I needed to test the waters with the guy first before getting engaged so we needed to become a couple by the time I turned 24, which meant I had a year to meet and snag the perfect guy ;-)

Well the next Saturday I had dinner at Megamall with
enchantress1 and some other friends from PEx. She invited along
kitj because I couldn't believe he was male (his PEx nick was bobobear which sounded like a girl's nick to me, and sorry Kit but you write like a girl! hehe) and also his best friend, who turned out to be
edvardian. Edward got there first and I thought he was just quiet and shy - until he started joking about old Chipmunks Christmas songs. The group broke up after dinner and I went with Kit and Edward to take Rachell home. We stayed there for a couple of hours just telling stories and I think Rache brought out her tarot cards (Edward says he thinks this happened on a different night though, not the night we met). The last card I drew was the Lovers card :-) Anyway we all enjoyed the evening and after that we all started talking on the phone a lot. Kit had 3-way conferencing and we often played the game "Let's keep Rachell up even if she has a shoot early the next morning" :-P

Rachell, ever the Mama-san, told me later that she was planning to fix Kit and me up but saw that Edward and I got along better. At the time we didn't notice anything though. Edward says he started noticing something was different about our friendship when he found himself turning down free movie premiere tickets to commute to Talayan Village in QC to visit me at my thesismate's house.

Naging kami in the early morning of Dec. 19, when he took me home after we pigged out at Don Henrico's Glorietta and watched Ringu. I loved how he would take the MRT and bus with me all the way to Novaliches to make sure I was safe, and take the bus back to Parañaque. And how he wrote mushy emails and hugged me in public (even if some people thought over kami sa PDA, diba
bebepats?). And we had a lot of weird things in common. For example, Lord knows he could have had any girl he wanted so I asked him once why he didn't go for one of those pretty girls who had perfectly manicured nails and knew one end of a lip gloss tube from the other. His reply was, "don't you realize I like you *because* you're not like those girls?"

Four months after we became a couple, nagtanan kami :-P Another weird thing we had in common was that we both didn't want to plan a big wedding just for the sake of tradition (in short tamad). Some people may think we got married too early but as Billy Crystal said, "when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible".

Edward's not the type to say ILY everyday, in fact I usually say it first and he says jokingly, "But I love you more, obvious naman e". That was one of the things I used to complain about, bakit laging pabiro ang sagot niya? But one night, I half-woke up to feel him stroking my hair and saying I Love You over and over again. :*)
Ay tama na ito, masyado nang malagkit. Ayan Majel, it's your turn. Love story ninyo naman. Yihee!
