Arriving In San Francisco

Getting off the bus at the Ferry Building, down by the bay, my next course of action was to try to find my hotel, which was somewhere inland, near Union Square.
Signs I'd seen in airports, particularly Chicago, had made me a little iffy about taxis, but I figured that trying to walk it would either get me lost or make me look like a tourist.

I took a rickshaw in Phuket 12 years ago, and it was memorable, especially how skinny the guy was from cycling everywhere. Still, Phuket Town is at least flat. The rickshaws are all gone now, and the duk-duks are much more expensive.

I have heard good things about SF food, and so would be curious about what you find there.

I'm probably the worst person to ask about food in a place, because I tend to stick with what I know.

I mean, I've tried a few American foods, like a 'biscuit', but there's nothing that'll make me order biscuits & gravy as a meal. For a thing for a bunch of people to taste-test, yes, but not as a meal.

Had lunch at a place billing itself as 'America's Diner', and they were pretty good; They had garlic fries, which are totally a thing here, and are quite nice actually.
