Those are indeed not rumors.

You will be able to play games from the NES, SNES, N64, and GCN on the revolution.

(they will offer a download service to download the games you want to play, though no details of which games and at what price have leaked yet)

That's what I've read somewhere, though I haven't seen an official release on the subject from Nintendo.

Depending on the games & terms, that makes the thing much more appealing. Would be nice to play the pre-N64 Mario Brothers and that N64 Zelda, if nothing else.
