So I took a ride this afternoon. I didn't take the exact route I mapped out, I got here just fine. I haven't been up to Hampton in years. It always feels like a ghost town after summer's gone. But the ocean is just as beautiful.
I'm finished with dinner now and getting ready to drive home. It's been a good day.

So this is the "dog's eye" view which shows how much easier it is for Mikey to step up there (kittin jumps off the side rails, she's younger and more limber).

In this one, it shows the finished product.  I've got a patio paver block (concrete) underneath the side support for additional stability.

Now Mikey can step right on there without having to strain his arthritic hips.  In a few days I'll install the railing so he doesn't fall off the side if his leg is giving him problems.

I wanted to extend the ramp so Mikey doesn't have to step up.

As it stood, it was about six inches off the ground, maybe a bit less.  I needed to extend it so it went all the way to the ground.  In this picture, I started extending the rail to where I wanted it to go.
