There was one thing that the good Cardinal didn't take into consideration however. Chaos did have at least one loyal to him, if only because this one had his own designs on the throne Chaos sat upon.

"My my... such language to use in regards to allies..."

The mad mage will be seen sitting atop the embellished throne's highest point, lounging against some unseen wall.

A faint chuckle escaped Albert once he heard the mage. It seemed that Albert has a new stalker to worry about. Glancing up towards the sly jester, Albert offered him a smile. "I hadn't expected you to arrive. You certainly seemed quite adamant about following your own lead, Kefka." Not showing a hint of irritation in his cheery tone, the warlock had to wonder as of why this clownish man was here. He doubted that Kefka would be much help in his schemes, but rather be a challenging foe to overcome.

"Oh, to be honest, I have no intention of helping you with your little rebellion. But don't worry, I won't be tattling to Chaos either. I just came to watch this farce of an attempt to best your betters."

He floated down a bit, so that his scarred face would be just inches from Albert's, though he would be doing so while upside down.

"You will fail to best Chaos, you know. We're bound to him. We're here because of him. Without him, this very place would rip you into so many pieces none could count them. But by all means, do try. If nothing else, you'll just soften him up for me~!"

He grinned and snickered a bit as he backed off, floating up and away once more.

"Then again, I could just be saying that to make you second guess yourself, as you undoubtedly have already surmised. I'm crazy after all. The question is... what do you believe, and what do you not?"

He certainly remembered the words he exchanged with Kefka prior to now, but it seemed as if Albert had the jester all wrong. The mage is loyal to Chaos despite sharing an equal fondness for needless destruction. This was a bad sign, one that could potentially become a bad omen in the future. Oddly humored by the sinister clown, Albert did not attempt to shoo the man away. "Really now?" He smiled at Kefka still. "I never pegged you to be an apostle of some kind. This is a rather interesting surprise." Honestly, Chaos didn't scare him ( ... )

Not usually fond of mass gatherings, Kain had decided to see what this one would be about, anyway. He wouldn't mind finding a way to make sense out of this predicament. That and getting a better idea of the 'allies' he'd been placed with... if he could call them that.

He quietly made his way to the meeting place, taking a place near a wall. There he leaned and waited, arms folded and watching warily.

Naminé has originally thought that she'd be able to stay here without being bothered too much. However, that didn't seem to be the case, as she noted the warriors gathering. She recognized a few already, but no Riku yet. This made nervous. And unfortunately she had noticed Kefka, the one she wanted to avoid the most so far.

Standing alone wouldn't be a good idea. It left her open for people to come towards her, talk to her, try to figure her out. Keeping a secret was stressful. So, she had to find someone she could stand by. The dragoon seemed to be the choice of the day.

There was something about him in his heart that she sensed. Something that allowed her to believe he was slightly more trustworthy than other people in the group, such as Kefka. So, she stood by him, quietly, and a few steps away from him. She didn't want to make it look too obvious that she was using him as a temporary shield.

Kain was still focused on his thoughts, but it did catch his attention when someone approached so closely. At first, he only spared her a glance. But at least it was someone different- so far out of all the people he'd met on the Chaos side, he could only stand the company of the dragons. Not only that, the girl seemed out of place on this side... the same way he felt half the time.

He looked toward where most of the group had gathered. "...I wonder what use this will be?"

When she heard him spoke, Naminé looked up towards his way. Was he speaking towards her? Her gaze then followed his for a moment and she pondered on his words for a moment. Should she say anything at all? What if speaking would only get her in some sort of trouble?

After a bit hesitation, she decided to reply. "I don't think this will be much different from our first meeting."

The place was in desperate need of renovation, Yazoo noted, as twin slits of iced jade widened to sweep over the fallen columns and heaps of rubble littering the floor of the Old Chaos Shrine. This was to be the backdrop to their meeting? ... Fitting, he supposed. The desolate halls reeked of power long gone and power soon to be; a suitable starting point for the rag-tag band of villains and shamed anti-heroes that made up the Chaos faction ( ... )

Noticing the silver haired gunner nearby, Albert decided to introduce himself. He doubted that he spoke with the silver haired youth before, especially since the fellow seemed quite different unlike other people. Those odd feline-like eyes gave that away quite easily. "Welcome, welcome!" The magician greeted with an amiable smile.

"I hadn't expected anyone to come here too soon, but it seems my comrades are just as eager as I to start this little meeting." Knowing that some members of the Chaos fraction are less than sane, Albert had to wonder if this young man was just as loony as some of the others. Albert hoped not, he wasn't very fond of speaking with crazies all thanks to Rasputin.

"Tell me, sir." Albert addressed the young man with formality out of habit. "What are your goals? Everyone needs a goal or two in life, therefore what are yours?"

I am a failure. Sorry it's so late, sweets. ♥ ebonize July 1 2010, 17:03:21 UTC
Yazoo had been watching the man's approach from the corner of his eye; it was habit, really, to keep half an eye on his surroundings in any given situation, and not one he planned on giving up any time soon. Still, the Remnant waited until he spoke before finally sliding his gaze to the elderly gentleman, offering him little more than a disinterested raise of an eyebrow as he looked down at him from his perch.

"That's a very intimate question," he said lightly, after feigning a moment of consideration. Yazoo cocked his head; "Why should I tell you?"

And in the corner of said sanctum, where the shadows were thickest, lurked Toothless. He's usually not the lurking sort, but he feels the most exposed when he's cooped up, and this was definitely 'cooped up'.

He saw Kain was there, at least, however far off (on the opposite wall)... But that was only slightly reassuring, at this point. He would listen, though, to whatever the man had to say.

He blinked his eyes several times once he spotted something gazing at him from the darkness. Albert almost forgotten about the small black dragon he befriended days before. He hadn't seen the creature since then, but he was glad nonetheless. The young dragon was smart, perhaps smarter than half of the people attending this meeting.

"Ah welcome!" Albert waved for the dragon to come near. "You certainly look as if you've had better days. Tired of this game already, aren't you?"

Toothless was at first reluctant to oblige, then he stepped forward from the shadows, following the wall a good part of the way. He wound up standing in front of the Cardinal, though somewhat off to the side, and facing him at an angle. Nothing against Albert, really. It was the clown, good god the others he didn't know or trust.

At Albert's question, Toothless let out a 'definitely' sort of rumble from his throat, nodding once as well.

Taking her place by a wall, there stood Beatrice, looking down at the hall with disdain. Really, it was typical that a god named "Chaos" would have such a trashy sanctum. If anything, the fact such a killjoy of a being had summoned her made the fact she was being tied down again all the more irritating.

Still, she could ignore that for now. There was a tiny chance she'd benefit from this meeting, or - at the very least- find a new way to entertain herself.

There was only one person Solidus had spoken to so far who could look that bored and contemptuous of, well, everything. "The 'Golden Witch,' I presume," he said, approaching her.

Normally, she would have enjoyed being recognised so easily. It served as a reminder of her status as a witch, and the respect she'd attained. On the other hand, it was far more irritating when it was a common human, especially one who was referring to her so casually.

"Correct." she replied, letting her pride take over. "And you might be... ?"

"Snake," he said curtly. "We spoke earlier, when you first arrived. Have you found a way back yet?"
