Taking her place by a wall, there stood Beatrice, looking down at the hall with disdain. Really, it was typical that a god named "Chaos" would have such a trashy sanctum. If anything, the fact such a killjoy of a being had summoned her made the fact she was being tied down again all the more irritating.

Still, she could ignore that for now. There was a tiny chance she'd benefit from this meeting, or - at the very least- find a new way to entertain herself.

There was only one person Solidus had spoken to so far who could look that bored and contemptuous of, well, everything. "The 'Golden Witch,' I presume," he said, approaching her.

Normally, she would have enjoyed being recognised so easily. It served as a reminder of her status as a witch, and the respect she'd attained. On the other hand, it was far more irritating when it was a common human, especially one who was referring to her so casually.

"Correct." she replied, letting her pride take over. "And you might be... ?"

"Snake," he said curtly. "We spoke earlier, when you first arrived. Have you found a way back yet?"

"Oh, that killjoy?" she said lightly, irritation quickly creeping into her voice. "Like I said, I intend to enjoy this place for a while, so I haven't tried leaving yet." ... It really was a trashy lie, but it was better than the alternative.

"Killjoy? I'm just a realist," Solidus said smoothly, looking aside. "I just thought that someone with Endless power would have tried that first." If Beatrice was like other egomaniacs he'd dealt with, Solidus didn't expect her to be difficult to manipulate.

"... It's not the place of humans to question the Endless, especially those humans who can't understand it." the witch retorted. Whether in combat, or even a simple debate, she refused to let some human get the better of her. Her pride wouldn't allow it.

"Of course it isn't," Solidus agreed quickly and easily. "I'm looking forward to seeing your Endless power displayed. I'm sure it's just as impressive as you've made it out to be. I'd be disappointed otherwise." Solidus knew that this was delicate work. The trick was to goad her without goading her against him...

Finally, he was showing some respect. "Naturally! The Endless magic is a power granted only to those who've attained the rank of Endless Witch. It's a power on par with the gods themselves!" ... Her pride was getting the better of her again, but no matter.

"How impressive." His voice balanced precariously on a fine line between awe and sarcasm. "To have power equal to all the gods! Well, except Chaos, I suppose..."

She caught that sarcasm, but felt no reason to comment on it. If he was dumb enough to doubt her magic, so be it. "Something like this is... just the work of a trashy god who uses something other than magic."
