Yazoo, on the other hand, had been methodically exploring as much of their topsy-turvy new plane of existence as he possibly could; it always helped to know one's way around (if not for one reason then another), and he'd decided that he might feel a little more comfortable if he at least knew what was what, and where was where. Thus far he'd made no particularly startling discoveries. Instead of widespread panic there was a general air of perplexity, mostly from those who hadn't been summoned there before, and that suited the frosty little Remnant just fine. Panic was such a colossal waste of time.

Be as that may, he hadn't quite expected to find himself in a castle ... if indeed it could still be identified as such. The whole place seemed unnecessarily insane: walls like floors, floors like ceilings, stairways to no-where, and a puzzling amount of randomly placed alcoves. A castle? Please. More like a mad house, in Yazoo's opinion, but he supposed it might prove somewhat useful to at least attempt vaguely learning the layout ( ... )

As if playing an organ, jets of red and white steam come billowing from vents placed throughout the maddening architecture. After which, a cackle could be heard echoing through the halls.

"Oh my oh my, what kind of tasty little morsel have I caught in my web, hmm~?"

In a new world, the best you could do was walk around and get in as much recon as possible, right? It didn't look like there was any leaving this place for a while. Anytime she tried to RTC it didn't work. But maybe Saix wouldn't be as upset about that if he got a very thorough report about this place. And it wasn't as though she was deliberately trying to ignore orders to return the castle. She just couldn't return. And someone would be sent out to look for her if she didn't return in a few days. They would have to assume something went wrong ( ... )

Oh, but special it was. As if playing an organ, jets of red and white steam come billowing from vents placed throughout the maddening architecture. After which, a cackle could be heard echoing through the halls.

"My my... quite the petite flower I've seemed to pluck. I wonder if this will prove to be any challenge, or if I'll just have to amuse myself with some screams..."

The laughter was a bit unnerving. Then again, the only people she'd ever heard laugh were Roxas and Axel and it didn't give her the bad feeling this did. She peered over the layout searching for the owner of the voice.

"That's an odd way to greet someone." she commented, tightening her grip on her keyblade in case she would need it. "Who are you?"

Kefka eyed the blade from his place directly overhead, using the bizarre lighting in the place to his advantage. It was certainly unique to say the least.

"I am the creator of this place, and the god of magic. Who are you~?"

As soon as he asked his question, he vanished from sight, teleporting to just beyond another corner.

Kain wasn't sure how he came to wander into the tower... but now that he was here, he couldn't help but explore it further. He wondered who could possibly inhabit such a place. Or if he truly wanted to know the answer to that.

Clenching his spear tightly, Kain kept alert for signs of a threat.

"Ah... so the fallen knight is off his laurels, looking to fight?"

Kain knew that voice, of course, from meeting Kefka before. It still creeped him out to hear him in this eerie setting. Not that he gave any sign of being so disturbed. He simply kept hold of his spear and glanced around.

"Kefka? What is this place...?"

"This is my home. My kingdom, my castle. Here I hold dominion and only I."

As if to prove his point, several jets of Magitek steam erupted from the ceiling and walls, with another jet gathering beneath Kain's feet.
