In a new world, the best you could do was walk around and get in as much recon as possible, right? It didn't look like there was any leaving this place for a while. Anytime she tried to RTC it didn't work. But maybe Saix wouldn't be as upset about that if he got a very thorough report about this place. And it wasn't as though she was deliberately trying to ignore orders to return the castle. She just couldn't return. And someone would be sent out to look for her if she didn't return in a few days. They would have to assume something went wrong.

This was the line of reasoning she was using to calm herself. There was some explanation for this place, surely one Xemnas could explain - and someone was coming to get her out eventually. If anything, because they wouldn't want to loose a member with a keyblade. And Roxas would look for her because they were friends. Axel too.

She went into the tower because even though it looked ominous it might be occupied. And the more people she could find, the more information she could gather. Besides, things had been looking pretty ominous about this place from the start. Maybe it was nothing special.

Oh, but special it was. As if playing an organ, jets of red and white steam come billowing from vents placed throughout the maddening architecture. After which, a cackle could be heard echoing through the halls.

"My my... quite the petite flower I've seemed to pluck. I wonder if this will prove to be any challenge, or if I'll just have to amuse myself with some screams..."

The laughter was a bit unnerving. Then again, the only people she'd ever heard laugh were Roxas and Axel and it didn't give her the bad feeling this did. She peered over the layout searching for the owner of the voice.

"That's an odd way to greet someone." she commented, tightening her grip on her keyblade in case she would need it. "Who are you?"

Kefka eyed the blade from his place directly overhead, using the bizarre lighting in the place to his advantage. It was certainly unique to say the least.

"I am the creator of this place, and the god of magic. Who are you~?"

As soon as he asked his question, he vanished from sight, teleporting to just beyond another corner.

"A god?" she echoed. Well, that maybe explained the way he looked. "My name is Xion. Are you the one that spoke to me in the dream?"

A lot of things about this situation would make sense if gods were involved. Then again, the voice had seemed deeper than this...magic god. How many deities were running around this place? The teleporting didn't really disturb her. She could do some of that herself.

"Interesting name... and no, I'm not. That would be either Chaos or Cosmos. I am neither, and only I have dominion in this realm."

He descended into cackling as a jet of red and white searing hot steam began to gather beneath Xion's feet, ready to erupt at a moment's notice.

The heating sensation beneath her feet did not go unmarked and she reacted instinctively. The dark corridors were not leading anywhere but to this world, but that didn't mean couldn't disappear into them and reappear into somewhere else in the same realm - and that's what she did.

She reappeared a few yards away unharmed. "You told me what what you are. But that still doesn't tell me who." she stated flatly, drawing her keyblade.

She wasn't entirely sure that the clown-god had made that happen, but if he did, then he had just attacked her with no provocation. She needed to be on guard. One thing was for sure: he didn't seem predictable.

Kefka just cackled as he floated through the hall at random. "I am Kefka Palazzo. God of Magic. And I get bored easily."

After a dark chuckle, Kefka twisted in the air, throwing two large balls of flame that snaked their way toward the girl, bending and turning seemingly without cause or reason.

He was looking for a fight. And Xion was sure this mission couldn't go any more wrong. Maybe she should stop supposing that. It was bringing bad luck.

She dodged one and narrowly deflected the other. Why had he turned hostile? She hadn't come to fight. Was everyone here going to be like this? Was this what it meant to be at war? Her eyes narrowed at her colorful adversary. Was he on the opposing side? Pretty brave of him to set up in enemy territory if he was. Or just crazy - and the latter was more likely.

"You're not the only one who can do magic." she stated more boldly than she felt. And with that she prepared some ice magic - hopefully he was weak against it - and above Kefka's head, sharp shards of ice started to rain down.

Kefka grinned as he waved a hand upward, causing the shards to swirl around him before dispersing and hitting the walls in a rather impressive display. He countered with a handful of triangular energy fields set to converge on Xion's position if she wasn't quick.

"Oh, but I am the god of magic remember~!"

She didn't have time to reply. In fact, she had to teleport - there was no way she could just roll out of the path of an attack like that. She reappeared glaring at him.

"You're not a god - you're just crazy clown!" she shouted at him, getting angry. "Why are you attacking me?"

"Oh, but I am a god. But believe what you must, ye of little faith."

He grinned as he floated overhead, looking down on his prey.

"Several reasons... Partially to make sure Chaos' champions are up to their task, partially to lure in some dupes of Cosmos... but mainly?"

His grin widened even more as he thrust his hands upward as he began to spin in a sitting position, causing bolts of lightning to strike random areas in the Nobody's general area.

"Mainly, I was just bored~!"

"But that's stupid!" she shouted, rolling out of the way - not quite quick enough because one of the bolt singed her right arm.

Lightening magic was one of her least favorite things to have to deal with - maybe because it reminded her Larxene. Maybe because it was just plain nasty.

Please don't go numb. she thought, clenching and unclenching her fingers around her keyblade.
