Except that some fish are capable of live births (Some sharks, rays, and members of the Poeciliidae family.) and some even had umbilical cords.

I feel completely okay with saying Ariel has a cloaca instead of a vagina. *shrugs*

I agree, kinda. To me the movie seems to be more about the fairies. They got the most screen time and Phillip, or Aurora for that matter, wasn't as established as a character as they were.

I think the movie is more about the fairies (and how much they bicker) than anything else

Oh man, I felt like that about other songs in the '80s. Man, yeah, Ariel's nerve is something to be desired.
