[Chuckles gives the screen a cautious, skeptical look. Lotso told him he wasn't up to anything shady, but given their past the clown reasonably had trouble trusting him. For all he knew Lotso could be planning to use any information he got for bad purposes further on down the road.
But the bear's strange inquiry to the "afterlife" truly left him puzzled.]
[That calm, easy drawl... reminds her of someone. She won't admit it, but the voice is the reason she responds, without hardly looking at the screen.
After all, she's trying to work... which she's half sneaking around to do. Doctor's orders are to take it easy, and, well. She considers not immediately hitting the gym to be following that.
Nothing hard about book work for her classes. Or catalog shopping for rifles next semester.
She focuses on the end part, about the afterlife. It's something she's thought long and hard about the last six months or so. Even moreso than before.]
I don't think there's any sort of afterlife. We live, we die. And that's the end of that.
[There's a small pause. He's a tad shocked at the abruptness of the answer. He wasn't exactly expecting something so direct, especially from a human.. Normally they're a bit more creative toward reality.]
Well, that's an awful to-the-point philosophy. I like it though. Thought the same way myself, for a long while, and it might still be the right way of lookin' at it...
TL;DR - AT LEAST IT'S A VIDEO, AMIRITE?ny_nightguardNovember 7 2010, 02:28:04 UTC
In the past, my kind took no names. But that tradition has since changed, and humans call me Goliath. I am a gargoyle. I expect you have not seen one before, except depicted in sculpture

Yer species.. gargoyles.. it sounds real fascinatin'. S'a shame that humans 're too scared to try understanding ya, 'specially if you got their best int'rests at heart. I hope things get better for alla ya..
That's a pretty beautiful ceremony, too. I don't use that word often, but it is. It's respectful.

Y'know, that after-death stuff people believe in.. I've heard about it a few times but don't know much about it aside from that.

[She's just looked at the screen. And seen the talking pink bear.
That takes her a moment to recover from. And she might still be a bit off in her replies.]
A lot of times.
The last time... laid me up for awhile. Lot of time to think.

I know that all too well. Prolly what got me thinkin' about this in the first place.

The afterlife is a question for those who have been there, and to my knowledge, they do not speak.
[Also, why is a human child's playing speaking? But if the creature IS a creature, then Goliath will treat it as such.]
I would advise you to concern yourself with this life. Whatever else is true, we are here, now. That is worth wonder.
If you wish to know the customs of my people, we are scarce in these troubled times, but we are alive. I will gladly share what I know.

Couldn't agree more on that...
Yeah, I'd love to hear more on yer people.. what's yer name, big guy?
