[Also, why is a human child's playing speaking? But if the creature IS a creature, then Goliath will treat it as such.]

I would advise you to concern yourself with this life. Whatever else is true, we are here, now. That is worth wonder.

Yer species.. gargoyles.. it sounds real fascinatin'. S'a shame that humans 're too scared to try understanding ya, 'specially if you got their best int'rests at heart. I hope things get better for alla ya..

That's a pretty beautiful ceremony, too. I don't use that word often, but it is. It's respectful.

There are enough who do not share that fear. And the ceremony has endured for many generations. It would not have, were it not beautiful.

In any case, I am glad for the chance to speak freely of my race. And I thank you for your good will. I have hope for our future.

Truth is, I don't know how me 'r any other toy out there is alive. We are, and always have been, but we ain't exactly sure how. We normally don't get th' chance ta talk to people either.
Accordin' to the rest of the world, toys are inanimate.. This here's the only place we can be "alive" in front of other folks.
