Our parish is under renovation and we are down in the basement (hall) until Nov.

Oh, that makes more sense. More sense than my assuming you belong to some radical breakoff sect of Catholicism that sees post-Vatican II churches as heretical and therefore must celebrate mass in one's basement.

I don't know enough about him. I am resigned to the fact that he is the GOP's man, therefore he is in. The recent election is in the books. He is who Bush has picked and who Bush's Senate will confirm.

I have had little chance to look at his background. He is certainly pro-life (as am I) from what I have seen. He seems a little out of it when it comes to equal opportunity. I also worry he may not be aware of the Ninth Amendment.

You never know what will happen on the otherside of confirmation. History would seem to show that recent Justices have moderated once in. As a replacement for Rehnquist he is likely a push. Let us see who the replacement for O'Conner is.

The problem with Roberts is that he heas zilch for experience. I fear another FEMA type appointee.
