RQ12: OK. So I had a big argument over this. Someone told me she always felt wealthier after buying something than before buying it, because she only buys good deals and anyway, she can make better use of what she buys than of the money that is in her purse ( Read more... )

If I paid $ for a skirt in store A, then saw the same skirt in store B for $$$, I'd feel REALLY good about buying that skirt for $. Yes, I would feel "wealthier."

Being a brokeass college dork I usually think everyone has way more money to spend than I do.

Why would someone hate money?

Donc t'as plus besoin de ce que t'achete que de ton argent, n'est ce pas? Donc ce que t'achete a plus de valeur que ton argent. Donc t'es plus riche, according to your logic. Donc ca marche pas.

I definitely feel wealthier after making a good purchase. Because I had the money to buy something that would provide me with entertainment or comfort. To me, wealth is more about having pleasant experiences than having money in my pocket. Money is a symbol of wealth, but not the actual wealth itself. Wealth is not necessarily measured in monetary units.
