Linear didn't really have a good grasp of the situation. All of the drama managed to race around her while she kept to herself, hearing vague things like "someone hurt a resident of Gohl" until they became "this girl hurt a resident of Gohl" as Hayley was taken past her and into the basement.

After she was sure that no one else would see her, Linear crept down the stairs and into the door, completely silent. She could hear the sobs all the way upstairs, and, as a girl who would sooner try to convince a monster intent on killing her to consider simply leaving and going on with its life, the quiet girl was quickly moved by the crying echoing throughout the house. Maybe if they just talked, Hayley would reconsider hurting people.

Linear closed the door behind her and stood, staring with a sympathetic frown at the bound girl being kept in the room. She didn't say anything, just looked as though she was about to join in the waterworks herself.

Hayley lifted her head off her now soaked knees to look at the new arrival. She didn't act afraid or startled, but she gave the young girl a pleading look regardless. Her eyes adjusted and she took in the other fully, measuring her up discreetly. Easy. Hayley knew this one wouldn't be a challenge at all. Her eyes were still full of tears ready to spill over onto her cheeks.

Hayley slumped in defeat against her restraints, letting her head rest on her knees again. The flow of tears started up again, heavy droplets hitting the cellar ground. They could be heard more than seen. Hayley sniffled, the pathetic sound making her seem much younger than she was.

"A-are you, like, here to yell at me too?" Hayley choked out, her muffled voice cracking as her cries only ceased long enough for her to speak out. She almost felt guilty for trying to send the girl on a guilt trip. Almost.

"I-I don't remember anything." The girl muttered, barely audible. The quiet from her that followed didn't last long, and was soon broken by renewed

The cellar door slammed hard, and by the pale blue shift of slight that spilled across the cellar, it was now in the early hours before dawn ( ... )

Hayley jumped, hitting the wall, hard, when the cellar door was opened violently by Prydain. The sound echoed in her ears, a ringing filling her head for a good few minutes afterwards. What an unruly brat he was. She blinked into the pale blue light that flooded the cellar briefly. It was a contrast to the dim lighting she had faced for the entirety of her stay at Gohl. Had she really stayed awake most of the night? Not that it wasn't unheard of for her to do that, she hadn't thought she'd been down there that long. Oh, how time flies ( ... )
