Hayley jumped, hitting the wall, hard, when the cellar door was opened violently by Prydain. The sound echoed in her ears, a ringing filling her head for a good few minutes afterwards. What an unruly brat he was. She blinked into the pale blue light that flooded the cellar briefly. It was a contrast to the dim lighting she had faced for the entirety of her stay at Gohl. Had she really stayed awake most of the night? Not that it wasn't unheard of for her to do that, she hadn't thought she'd been down there that long. Oh, how time flies.

She gave him a fearful, watery-eyed gaze. Like she expected him to beat her right then and there. Hayley pushed herself as close to the wall as she could, trying to keep as much distance between them as she could. She winced, her back bruised from hitting it against the wall. Keeping up an act like this always came with some form of pain. Not wanting to overdo it, Hayley kept the shaking to a minimum.

So the big leader himself had finally decided to come down and see his captive. Hayley had wondered when the other would show his face. Since being put down here and tied up, she hadn't seen or spoken to Prydain face to face. Now he would be her toughest, by far. Hayley figured that out of all the residents of Gohl, Prydain probably believed most staunchly in her guilt. She wanted to grin. Because if they hadn't been in a place like Discedo, Hayley knew she would've gotten off scott free and their roles would've been reversed right now. But regardless, this was much more amusing in the long run.

Although the flow of tears had never stopped, it became heavier as soon as Prydain took a negative tone with her. Her face crumpled from fear to utter despair. She tore her gaze away from him and fixed it on the cellar floor as she sobbed. Hayley tried to stifle her loud sobs to listen to Prydain's words by biting her lip, but she only succeeded in reddening her lips.

It had been bold of her hadn't it? Hayley thought back to before that night, briefly. How carefully she'd planned everything out and how long she'd waited for her chance. It had given her something to do, at least. Even that night, Hayley had been in top form; unafraid of anything, calm, and completely what she'd come to do perfectly and leaving without a trace. At least, any trace she could count on. How could she have expected the freaking darkness to rat her out?

Hayley remembered she was supposed to be paying attention, and lifted her eyes to look in Prydain's general direction. She couldn't look him in the eyes. It would be too direct, too soon. Coming from a place of humility always came off better, right? Even without a response to Prydain's diatribe, Hayley at least looked like she was taking everything in and taking it seriously on top of that.

There was silence from her after Prydain finished his last sentence, about her punishment. Hah! That was the best they could come up with? She hadn't come that close to laughing the whole night. Hayley was expecting something a little more creative and a little less... medieval.

"I..." She choked on the first word, seemingly trying to hold back another torrent of tears, "I really don't remember any of it... but I must have..." Hayley let a sob escape her, and her shaking intensified. She took a few deep breaths, attempting to calm herself, before finally looking Prydain straight in the eyes.

"If I really did it then I guess I, like, deserve that." Hayley's voice wavered but she still sounded determined. Defeated, but determined to take her punishment gracefully. Trump that. She thought to herself, while her face revealed nothing but her seemingly sudden decision to accept what was coming to her.
